Does anyone else find the location of the Dream's cantilevered whirlpools a little odd? You would think they would be on the Lido or another upper deck, not on the Promenade... outside the Piazza and casino.
I love the way they are on the side of the ship. We had a laugh when we saw that. When leaving Progresso in April the Captain had to make a hard turn to get us out of there and it felt like the ship listed almost onto its side. My deck chair slid across the deck and the kids in the pool were almost thrown out of it. Can you imagine that happening while the Dream's off-the-side hottubs are occupied?

No doubt they will be fun though I think I like the design and location of the ones on RCI better. Just seems strange they are decks away from the other water areas and the fact that you would have to access them through more formal areas of the ship where swimsuits/wet cruisers are not usually seen.
I cannot wait for Carnival to release more details renderings of the ship. I'm hoping to sail the Dream in 2010.

Heh, don't fear, if there is a sudden list on the ship the people in the overhanging whirlpools won't be thrown out--they'll be 3-4' glass/railings around it to protect the people in there in those events...
As for the location I do think they were put there to make multiple focal points and areas on the ship where people can meet and gather instead of all crowding around the pool on the Lido deck. Having the promenade area will mean they can have outdoor activities at the same time at three points on the ship (Lido, and port/starboard exterior promenade!
I will go on the ship, but I will likely take a cabin where it overlooks the water and not the promenade...I need to be able to look down at the sea instead of open deck area...that and it is more private looking down to the water instead of open deck..
