Default What is the best Carnival ship from Florida

I have never sailed Carnival. What would be the best ship in there line to start out on. I have cruised RCL. I would prefer at least a 4 to 5 day cruise

I would agree with Inspiration. Great ship. Great crew. Port of Tampa is easy to get into and out of.

The only thing I would say about it is, get there arouond 12-12:30. It saves on time you will spend on the check in line. First cruise we got there early, and sat there for what seemeed like forever. If you do have to sit and wait, make sure you have some singles and some change for the vending machines.

I agree with "Inspiration", or "Legend" out of the port of Tampa. GREAT ships, and outstanding port. Other than that, maybe "Liberty" because it's newer, and has the outdoor "big screen" on Lido deck.
Have a GREAT cruise.

Default Nver Cruised Carn. B4

But you've cruised RCCL .. hmm that's a tough question to answer because....

I never cruised before and I went on the Carnival Fantasy.. I thought I was in heaven from reviewing the pics of the ship online and seeing everything there was to do onboard.. you know.. the first time cruisers blah blah blah.. Well............................

We roll into Port Canaveral and there at dock is the Disney Magic and to it was the RCCL Navigator or Radiance... I don't really remember.. So.. my mouth is watering now because I know the next ship I'll see is ours. The Fantasy...

The wind was let out of my sails... The Fantasy looked a bit pitaful sitting next to the other ships I mentioned. None-the-less. I still had a great time on board.

NOW..... 6 cruises later, if you're going for more than 3 or 4 days. I would say at least cruise on a Spirit, Conquest, or Triumph Class ship.

I have been on the Liberty, and Valor most recently ... Nice!!!

If you want a short cruise the Inspiration is nice. Been on it twice. This was my first cruise ship that I was on. If you would like a longer cruise I would say Glory. Been on that one three times and each time was wonderful.

Default They are all the same ( well almost)

I sailed on the Inspiration ( Fantasy class), Legend ( Spirit class), Valor ( Conquest class), and the Destiny. From ship to ship they are pretty close to being the same. Continuity appears to be a characteristic of these "fun ships". But that just my experiences .
My advice would be select your trip based primarily on ports/itinerary.

Freedom will be doing a six day Key West, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman route starting this fall/winter from Ft Lauderdale. Ya, it is six day, but six is better than four or five!!!....Plus the Freedom has balcony cabins, which are a must!!!

In my opinion, they're all good BUT my suggestion for a first time Carnival cruiser would be to sail on one of the Conquest class ships; either the Glory sailing from Port Canaveral, the Valor sailing from Miami or the Liberty sailing from Port Everglades.

I've cruised on Royal Caribbean and just recently on Carnival Inspiration (July 08). Inspiration is a great ship, just refurbished fall of 2007. She looked brand new. The staterooms on Carnival are larger (especially the bathroom). Food on Carnival was better than I expected (well presented and prepared for the most part). The Water Works area of the ship was a lot of fun for the kids and fun-loving adults. The port of Tampa is very efficient. Very little wait.

The best ship that we've ever been on is the "M.S. Carnival Victory". We've sailed on her two times and would go again and again. We sailed from Miami.

We have been on the Inspiration twice going a third time in 2009. She's a lovely ship. On the Glory this past April. Loved them both. Inspiration was our first cruise. Easy to get around. Glory was awesome and bigger. We liked the staff & food better on the Inspiration. The Glory has the best supper club and fish & chips counter. We highly recommend eating at both. We loved the Sensation also so I would say you can't go wrong on any of them.

Inspiration has the fantasy-class upgrades which makes it nice for a short cruise - but I like the newer & bigger ships. Fantasy should be completed by January 2009.

Destiny does 4-day cruises to Key West & Cozumel from $279,

(stay away from Holiday - its an old ship they are not even talking about upgrading),

Inspiration or Legend out of Tampa are GREAT, or if you want to sail out of Miami, or Ft. Lauderdale, I'd suggest Liberty, or later in the year Miracle. They're all good, have a super cruise.

Truthfully, I haven't been on Holidy, be she is a RELIC

Anyway - Inspiration has had the evolutions of fun upgrades, Fantasy will have them in January.

Miracle is of the Spirit clas, and those are the models we recommend the most. I persoanlly like the layout the best.

I've cruised on her sister ship the Holiday... had a terrible cruise. For me the ship was too small. No atrium, small deck, just not what I was expecting. It was my fault because I didn't do my research on her before I book. I just figured; "Carnival + Ship = Good Time" I was kind of wrong.

I have sailed Carnival Glory twice and will be on her again in January. Great group cruise and price. Been on Sensation 3 times, Inspiration & Victory once. Have had a great time on all of them. Will be on Carnival Liberty in October and Splendor in November. I too have sailed on Royal Caribbean but enjoy Carnival much more.
We have some great ports to sail out of here in FL. along with wonderful ships.
