Default Cruise to nowhere??

Does anyone know if Carnival offers "cruises to nowhere" on the west coast?
It's my understanding it's a one day at sea type thing... and I was told it counts towards the platinum status...
I suppose it would be too much to ask for it to sail out of san francisco huh?

I think it's got to be either 4 or 5 day or longer cruise to count toward platinum. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I cannot find anything on the number of days. Maybe a call/e-mail to Carnival might be in order?

Okay, so I called them...
It doesn't matter how long it takes you to get there and the length of the cruise doesn't matter. On your 10th cruise you become platinum...!

There are no cruise to nowhere cruises that leave out of the west coast. I personally wouldnt take one of those cruises becuase it is 249 and up per person and it is only two days. You can sometimes get 4 day cruises for the same price out of Long Beach.

Yes, I noticed that. I was checking on the price of the east coast cruises... and I realized for that price I could go out of long beach and no air fare...

No, Carnival cruises leave out of San Franciscio it's only Princess, Celebrity, Holland, and Norwegian. Here is a question Princess is owned by Carnival does a Princess cruise count towards your status?

There is a 2 day out of San Francisco to Vancouver. You could drive to San Francisco and fly back from Vancouver. Or better yet, the two day cruise is leaves on May 7, 2009 you are in Vancouver on May 9, 2009. Spend 4 days in Vancouver hop on the Carnvial Sprit for a 7 day cruise to Alaska Leaving May 13, 2009.

Let's see on prices the 2 day cruise is $167 cat M PP for inside, the alaskan cruise is $726 Cat 4A . Then there is hotel I found one for $107 per night. Then one way flight back to the bay area non stop on United is $201. So before tax: $1522 and you get two cruises. If both count towards status it could be worth it. Just be sure you have someone to drive you to and from San Francisco cause parking would be expensive.

Katlady.... nope not concord... I would have someone drop me off in pittsburg... I live in Antioch.

As far as planning goes... I'm already thinking about a down payment on another cruise.... (short one, less money)

As long as you don't leave your car in Pittsburg for two weeks because if you did once you came back all you would see is this.

As an operations manager for a parking company in SF I may be able to help with parking for a SF cruise. We all have perks with our jobs and mine is free parking. We run a parking garage a block from the cruise pier and with a little incentive we can maybe work a deal.. Also it looks like Princess is pulling the ropes from SF starting next year. The port commission didnt come thru on promised items so the biggest cruise tenent is leaving the bay area and going back to LA..

I think it's got to be either 4 or 5 day or longer cruise to count toward platinum. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Any cruises on Carnival counts toward Platinum status. We just finished our first VIP cruise and we had a couple of three day cruises that got us to VIP status.

Okay, I can see you need to put more thought into this...
I could take bart to SF
Good point but do you really want to leave your car at the Concord Bart station. I have strange hobbies I like planning fake cruise. It's now I comparsion price shop. I would perfer to take a cruise then fly and if it's cheaper that is even better. 8)

Hi Briguy my bestest friend ever. How is your day going. You are my favorite poster.
Ah.. to be appreciated for me being me and not what I do for a living... it brings joy and happiness to my heart... My day is going well thanks.. so what do you have to trade if you need a parking favor?
I'm a licensed hairstylist so do you have hair on your head? Oh I also make homemade white wine.
