Default Has anyone been to Panama lately?

And if so - what excursion did you do? There are not many to offer and the bike one was actually taken off - leaving us with less choices.

No, but I was wondering what kind of cruise you were going on. On your cruise clock it says you are going on a Panama Canal cruise. The Freedom doesn't have any Panama Canal cruises. Also can you please tell me what ports you are going to. I have been on the Freedom and it was an awesome ship. I never could tell it was moving, it was that smooth! You will have a great time on an awesome ship!.

Hi - it leaves out of Fort Lauderdale and goes to Cozumel, Costa Rica and Panama. I guess I named it wrong - sorry for the misclarification. Doesn't go through the Panama Canal - but to Panama. You can go through the canal on an excursion - but I have been there done that. Can't find anyone who has done any of the other excursions.

Default Panama

the train was an awesome experience--under one hour from the atlantic to the pacific. We never made it to Costa Rica because a Carnival ship ahead of us had some trouble with locals. Some passengers took a tour bus and some locals boarded the bus and tried to rob them. As the story was told a 70 year old ex marine got one of them in a head lock and killed him. Carnival thought it was best to change our next port to Roatan Hondoras. It was awesome there. Well, have fun in whatever you do.

We made that trip last year, but didn't even leave the ship. The port looks pretty bad, and we were warned about the locals. I didn't hear too much about the different excursions offered, except the train. Most seemed to like that one. I certainly wouldn't advise striking out on your own there, but I'd think that one of the ships tours would be O.K. The cruise itself was GREAT however.

Yes, I just wanted to do something because Panama is followed by 2 sea days. I just didn't want to get 'bored' by being on the ship for 3 days straight. I'm an adventurous person. :-)

One day!!!!

Be prepared for the Inspiration Karaoke. It has that new digital system (like we used on the Imagination) and the selection was :iffy:.

Had a BLAST on the Legend. I believe Rozwin will be gone by the time you sail....but he was GREAT!!!

We are going to Xcaret in Cozumel, Horsebackriding in Costa Rica and I have NO idea what we are doing in Panama. Whats your agenda?

See...3 ladies....instant Pips right there!!!! On just about every cruise I have managed to get some ladies up on stage who never in their wildest dreams thought they would ever do karaoke. It is soooo much fun.

They love being Pips because it is mainly "the moves"...not the notes that matters!!

The Freedom will be our 4th trip to Cozumel this year....so we will be going to Paradise Beach (as usual). It gives us a chance to catch up with Tom and visit.

Our 17 year old son has a form of Autism...so there are not a lot of excursions he can do. We usually just grab a taxi.

Our plans specifically for Panama is to grab a taxi for spend an hour or so at the Gatun Locks. They are suppose to have an observation area there. It is about 30-45 minutes from the dock.

We would have loved to do the 8 hour tour on the boat that goes through the locks....but that would be to much for DJ.

Costa Rica....we don't have a clue. It there isn't much around the dock area, we will just grab a taxi to where there is some shopping and sightseeing to be done.

We have an older son who is in college, so he misses most of the cruises now. (a fact he is not pleased with) He was able to go with us in May and we are planning one in January while he is on break. We just don't have it booked yet. He is a Chemical Engineer major. He and two other guys are renting a house this year....so we are moving him this weekend...(what fun)!! But he has a 4 year free ride...so we can spend his college fun on CRUISING!!!

Can't wait to meet you and your daughters. Sorry we will miss meeting hubby.

We will have a blast!!!
