I booked my upcoming cruise through Carnival. However, I did not receive a cabin assignment, although I am guaranteed a balcony room. I asked the vacation planner about it because when I booked my last cruise through her, I knew immediately where I was staying, but she said the policy has changed. This sounds bizarre to me. Has this happened to anyone else? I cruise on Monday to Nova Scotia.
This happens all the time. One cruise I didn't know until I checked in at the terminal what cabin I had assigned. Its ok. You will at least get a balcony. If you get lucky you might even get a suite.
Life is too short to let the ship of your dreams sail without you.

We usually book a guaranteed cabin. Last few times we got our assignment at the pier. We just put new tags on luggage then. We are going on the Victory in September and haven't gotten assignment yet. Enjoy your cruise.
If I were you, I'd be excited there may be a good chance that you'll get upgraded..

We go our cabin # about 35 days prior to our cruise, we booked a balcony guarantee.... but it's my understanding most people get their assignment when they get to the ship.
This info is not from experience, just from what I've read on this board.
