Navigator of the Seas or Carnival Destiny?
First time cruiser here! I am planning a cruise for my family of 3 (includes 18 yo son), and MIGHT allow son to bring a friend. I've narrowed my choices down to Navigator of the Seas (out of Ft Lauderdale) or Carnival Destiny (out of Miami) or Carniver Imagination (also out of Miami). I like all of the :D itineraries. I am a bit concerned about motion sickness, and want this to be a good first time experience for us all (so I can plan for more). What do you suggest? :D

Well, you've got 3 very different ships picked out both in size and activities. But, since you have an 18 year old, I would choose the Navigator of the Seas because it has so much more to do for kids.

In addition, I think everyone should sail on a Voyager class ship at least once in their life. There is nothing to compare to them, it was the smoothest cruise I ever had. Hardly knew I was on a ship.

I have sailed the Destiny and Imagination, and I absolutely LOVE Carnival. With the exception of one or two people, my service on board has never been anything less than exceptional.

I sailed Brilliance of the Seas, a Radiance class RCI ship (my first Royal ship), in June and have to say it was great and the smoothest cruises I've ever been on. I really like RCI. I heard on that ship from people who have cruised the Voyager class ships that they are amazing. Royal lacked in some areas service and food wise, but I will definitely sail Royal again.

Whichever you choose I'm sure all of you will love it. Hope this board helps :)

I recommend Carnival Destiny or Imagination. I am 17yrs old and I am addicted to Carnival. I had been on a Royal Caribbean cruise and did not like it at all compared to Carnival. From a teens prospective I say Carnival. I too get motion sick and everytime before I set sail usually 2-3 weeks before I go to the doctor and ask them to give me a perscription for transdermscope patches (seasick patches) and they work like a charm. You just have to change them out every 3 days and put one on about 1 1/2 before you set sail and you will be good to go. Its always better to be safe than sorry.. If you have anymore questions from the teen perspective just post back. Also tell your son to sign up with cruisemates and ask any questions he might have on the teen forum =)

Sailed the Navigator back in the fall of 2005. Great ship and lots to do. My friends and I hung out every night at the Sports Bar. Good crowd up there and the bartender did some really cool card tricks. Bob
