Anyone have any advice about this park? I understand they have swimming with dolphins but what about the rest of the park? Has anyone gone swimming with them? Will this park take up an entire day? Thanks for the input!!
Chankanaab is awesome! My hubby and I went there in March. We did the Dolphin swim and then they have a great beach, multiple beach side restaurants, bars. Its an eco park so there is more to do there than dolphins. We walked around as much as we could but our bus left at a certain time so after that we just shopped port side.
There is also shops, snorkling etc at chankanaab. Beautiful place and the Dolphin Swim is soooooo worth it.
Can anyone tell me abt the dolphin swim?....I noticed on their website that there are 3 different options. I was thinking abt the middle one. Anyone done that??? It's something I've always wanted to do and we had decided to go to Chankaanub (sp?) Park anyway
Fantastic park. Prior to the hurricane they also had a cultural area with a lot of Mayan art. I assume they also restored that area.
I'll show my age or at least my early experience on Cozumel. I used to drive out to the exact spot where the park is now located in a jeep, park on the beach and snorkle. It was one of the best spots on the island. Not a lot on the island in those days. Very different now.

Does anyone remember if the park has bathrooms or changing facilities nearby? Also how about the cost of the dolphin swims? I'll be having a 5 year old with me and want to try for him to enjoy the experience as well. thanks again for everyone's advice. I think we'll go here for sure!!!
my son has done this 4 times and he is only 14. He loves dolphins and we go everytime we go to cozumel. It's great . He does the swim and we can relax on the beach. He has done the royal swim twice(the first time he did it with his dad cause he was only 10) The last time we went there were only a couple of ships in port so he did it twice. The second time there were only 4 people so he got lots of one on one time with the dolphin.
We have never taken a tour from the cruise. It is alot cheaper just to go. It is a 5-10 minute cab ride. I believe it cost $10 each way.
They also have a restaurant and snack bar. A pool with a swim up bar.
A great sandy beach where you can snorkle. The bottom is very rocky so you might want to use water shoes. There are also walking trails and a nice gift shop.
