Well I normally stay with my uncle when I take a cruise out of Long Beach. Somehow I don't think he will let you stay over.

We have done Disneyland trips there and have stayed at the Carousel Inn and Suites it's across the street from Disneyland. If you are doing a pre cruise trip to Disneyland then I would recommend staying there. It saves on parking to just walk across the street and the hotel was remodeled a year or so ago.

If you are not going to Disneyland and want to stay closer to the cruise port then I would suggest the Comfort Inn and Suites. They have a breakfast with the room and the more expensive rooms come with a whirlpool tub.

These are budget type hotels and not super fancy. I look for things in my budget that are nice and clean with a friendly staff.

There are several hotels in that area.

Lots of folks stay at the Coast for a good room at a good rate for one night.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn (about 3 miles away) because we used points for a free room. The hotel was nice, but the surrounding area was seedy. We would not stay there again for that reason.

Just stay right around the port and you should be ok.

Hi
We are sailing on the Pride out of Long Beach and we made reservations at the Queen Mary Hotel. It is walking distance to the ship and they have an early check in counter in the hotel. They also gave us an upgraded room when we told them we were sailing on Carnival!
We leave to go there on 9/26 and cruise on 9/28. When are you leaving?

I stayed on the Queen Mary when I sailed on Carnival Pride. It was by far the worst hotel experience. The rooms were filthy. We found blood had dripped dpwn the side of the mattress. The carpets were disgusting. We put the towels on the floor to walk on. I dropped my cell phone and it went under the bed. I slid the bed out to find that no one had vacumed there in a very long time. I wanted to shower in the morning. I went through nearly my whole container of Clorox cleanups to get the shower clean enough to get in. Yes, the ship was old and we expected normal wear but there is no excuse for filth. I wish I had read the reviews more closely before I booked this dump.
