Ask the cabin steward. I believe they have the key to open them up. Bob

On the conquest class they can be opened. I would guess that most ships they do because one day in port they cleaned the balconies and opened them as they moved along. One was left opened and was banging, the room steward got the tool and secured it for us.

It really depends where your room is. Some of the doors are taken off and put under the bed sometimes they tie them to the wall and sometimes they block one of the room's door. So it really depends on where your room is located.

We just back off of the Destiny and we had 4 balcony rooms with the partitions opened. That made for some really nice times at night.

You need to go to the purser's desk when you first board and get your name on the list, someone one from each cabin must be there to sign.
here is a web site that where you can look up the cabins and see if the balconies open up.

Hi,
We had a group of 4 cabins on the Glory and we loved being able to open the particians between the balconies. We all had the same steward and he unlocked them all. It was great not to need to go out to the hall to go between.. Although it does leave you open to having surprise pictures taken .... my dad gotta love him...

Great picture. They opened a little different than I remember on the Glory. And I like the way they were able to secure them to the rail.

The ones on the Legend secured to the rail and we had to wait for maintenance to open them for us. On the Glory my son was able to open them with his car key, and we secured them with a bungee and then closed them if any of the balconies wanted privacy.

I was on deck 8 of the Freedom in March. Yes they can be opened. Ask steward (key required).

They are only allowed to open a particular number of dividers each sailing. First stop when you board should be the pursers desk. You will need one person from each cabin present to make the request. They will put your name on the list and send someone as soon as possible to open them. On the Legend this year it was early the first morning at sea and a maintenance guy had to secure them to the railings , on the Glory we managed to open them ourselves before our cabin steward got to it.
