Default Bunk Bed Banged Bad

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone else had this experience aboard Carnival's Balcony with Bunk Bed. We booked the balcony with pull down bunk and bed converts into bed. The bunk bed is rounded but dangerously close to the queen bed. I usually travel with an extension cord so we can plug in our phones, ipods, night light, etc. I had some close calls, but on the last night, you know how you have to pack everything up... well it was dark and I SMACKED my head into the bunk bed.

I woke up with blood all over my head and pillow. I had a black eye. The design is stupid. We were on Carnival Pride on the Mexican Rivera cruise. I wrote to the cruise line but they never responded. Just was wondering and warning others about this.

No I have never had a balcony stateroom with a pull down bed. What I usually do is leave the bathroom light on and leave the door open a few inches and that really helps during the night.

Ouch!! That must have hurt. I'm with the others... either the bathroom light is left on, or very often I fall asleep with the tv on.

But all that aside, I'm sorry you got hurt. But the way you think that's cramped area, have you ever been on a train?
My sis and I laughed so hard trying to get her up and down, I nearly wet myself....
That woujldn't have been good, the bathrooms are even smaller..
We or actually she didn't get hurt, but it sure made for a fun memory... lol
Actually when I think of our train trip, that's always the first thought.

I hope your next cruise brings nothing but fun memories.

We have sailed on 3 of the Spirit class ships using that bunk bed on a balcony (and a 5 A ~ same configuration) and never had a problem.

(Pride, Spirit and the Legend)

In fact, we book a 5A now when we are sailing on that class because with 4 of us in the room...it is my favorite set up.

Hubby also has to take an extension cord for his CPAP.

We do however, leave the bathroom light on and the door cracked....

I know how much the head can bleed, and bleed, and bleed, and bleed. I didn't bang my head, rather had a cyst gone bad removed (after many years of peaceful coexistance on my head). It probably would have been a good idea to get your head checked out to see how big of a cut it was. My incision was a wee thing but boy it bled (it wasn't a good time to have superlong hair either.....blood everywhere!!!).

A small minimag or LED flashlight on the nightstand does help, I had one to help me find the bathroom on the Conquest while letting the two others sleep!!!!!

I thought that most of the cabins with pull down bunks were over the loveseat next to the bed? Hmm, I gues some cabins are different.....
