Default Laundry

Hello, for anyone that has sailed on the Valor. My understanding the Valor has laundrettes on each stateroom level. On the Upper deck, level 6, would anyone share the location for the launderettes. The answer will save, or not save, me having to bring a travel iron.
Only 11 days to sea.
Thank you,
Wipala

The laundry areas will be marked by signs st the doors. They do not show up on the floor plans at the website except as white areas, unmarked. Just ask your cabin steward. He or she will guide you. Leave the travel iron at home it is a fire hazard and will not be allowed. Have a great cruise.

Can't tell you the exact location of laundry rooms but locations are posted on the ship and are easy to find and use. Personal travel irons in your cabin are strictly prohibited by Carnival.

Thanks all, did not know that Carnival does not allow travel irons. This is good to know. Garygn thanks for the location. This is not very far from our cabin, just around the corner a little.

Have fun on your cruise make sure you tell us if you like it. By the way what ports are you going to. Just wondering if I have been to any of them and if I have I could tell you about them.

Sometimes the laundry rooms are not open while still in port, so be sure you don't need to iron the first afternoon, just in case.

We also noticed a lot of people doing laundry on the Sensation last week. It looked like a lot of these people brought all their clothes from home dirty and waited until they boarded and did all the laundry on board

There was also a long line (out the door) every day just before dinner time with people waiting to use the irons. I would suggest pressing things for dinner early in the morning or mid-day if possible.

We do take a small steamer with us to use in our cabin but not an iron.

I have to second the suggestion that was made about ironing items early in the morning rather than just before dinner. There are always lines to use the irons before dinner but if you do laundry and ironing early in the day there is no wait. We have often done laundry on the ship just so that we could contine to pack light, now we don't worry as much with the Platinum perks, but we still have to iron

BTW the last time we sailed there was a lady throwing an absolute fit at the Purser's desk because her iron had been confiscated and it was a $40 iron, the Purser offered to have it returned to her at the end of the cruise even though that wasn't their normal policy but she demanded that she be given the iron immediately because she wasn't going to use a "common laundrette". The purser was excellent for about 10 minutes and then she said in a very sweet calm voice "Well Ma'am the ship will be docking in St. Thomas in about 1/2 hour, please come back to the desk with all of your luggage at that time and we will see to it that you are reunited with your iron". I almost died trying to hold the laughter in, but fortunately her husband stepped up to the plate and took her away. We saw her later in the cruise, she was calmer but not any nicer.

The irons in the cabins are a definate fire hazard and should be confiscated. I just wish all the Carnival crew were diligent in doing that. On our most recent cruise, a passenger was walking down the corridor openly carrying a full size iron. He was boasting "I sure am glad I brought my own iron." There were stewards up and down the hallway and not one person approached him.

Good tip about ironing early. We are going to pack really light, only one bag each and I will have some of my wifes stuff in my bag. We most likely have a carry on for the flight from Phoenix, but that will be for docs and meds and soforth. 9 days till the water

I need to say I brought my travel iron a few times. A Roenta steam travel iron. I didn't realize until after I had done it that it was prohibited. I had no problem. However, we plugged it in and used it. Then promptly unplugged it. Sat it on the counter in the bath to cool then put it up in the closet. We did not have a problem. The lady that had the confiscated iron most likely left it out and plugged in un attended. That is so dangerous.

Have a wonderful day all!
