Default What is your favorite moment?

When you go on a cruise there always seems to be one or two moments where you think to yourself "this is it, this is what its all about". So what is yours? I have two. The first is when I am on my balcony maybe the second night when the chaos and excitement has died down a little and I look out over the water at night and watch the gentle waves go by and the surf makes that awesome noise when the ship makes its wake. It is so peaceful and begs for reflection.

The second is the first moment I realize the ship has left the dock and we are officially underway. Its a great feeling!

My favorite time is late at night after the clubs close I go up on the very top of the ship with a glass of wine and look out over God's wonder. I am so looking forward to sharing this with my son on 9/30...

Smooth sailing for all

The first time I sat in the lawn chair at 1AM on the open sea, soooo peaceful. The other time is the first time the wife and I walked into the Elation and just looked up in the atrium!! That was our first Carnival cruiseship and we've never sailed with anyone but Carnival.

Got to be when I'm standing on the stage, mike in hand, and there are 1500 of my fellow passengers in the audience. At the moment when the music starts, and I'm wondering to myself. "HMMMM,,,will I remember the lyrics?"

I love doing the "Legends Show", and/or the passengers talent show. Guess I'm just a big HAM at heart.

definately would be being on the balcony late at night watching the waves glide by or watching the sun set with a drink and good friends.

I truly enjoy a Saturday afternoon sail away from the Miami harbor. Our first cruise was out of Miami and the cars honking and waving from the causeway road made our trip feel special. Tampa is nearly as good because of the people gathered at the clubs and outside restaurants at the dock, but nothing beats the enthusiasm of the Miami sail away on a Saturday.

After that, the moment when I put away our life jackets after the muster drill, all responsibilities, deadlines, timeclocks and everything goes into the closet with them and I can relax now and just enjoy being on vacation. Once I forgot to repack them at the end of the cruise and I was able to keep the vacation buzz going for a couple of weeks before they found their way home on their own.

1- As you are nearing the port on the day of the cruise, and the very, very first glimpse of the ship docked!!! You never get used to the butterfies in your stomach!!

2-Mine was this past January on The Emerald Princess, The last playoff game before the Superbowl...it was near zero in Green Bay, and here were were sitting on the pool deck in lounge chairs watching the game on the huge outdoor movie screen..everyone was yelling and hollering and having a wonderful time!! For me, that is when I said, this is it

Our best was on the Enchanted Isle where we renewed our wedding vowels for our 30th. In the piano bar and the captian did the service and the piano player player some really neat sounds. The second best is when you see the open sea and you know you are on way for a great week of travel and no watchs. My wife and I usually close the lounges after we dance the night away.

I get a special feeling when I first see the ship. That feeling is the elevated to a higher level when I step foot onto the ship. Then I reach the peak of excitement when the ship pulls away and the cruise has truly started.

As a side note, on one cruise we actually pulled away during the muster drill. That was quite disappointing
