Default Did You Forget Something?

Hello Everyone,

I'm going on my first cruise this weekend and so excited, to the Bahamas

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should and should NOT bring with me?

I'm bringing clothes, camera and that's about it.

Is there someone who went on a cruise and wish they would of brought something?

Sooooooooooooooooooo Excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take baby powder. I learned this from a friend of mine last year when we were in the Bahamas!! We did Blackbeards Cay/Stingrays and on the boat back to shore I had sand all over my feet from the beach. She had me put a little on my hands, rub my feet and off came all of the sand instantly! I was shocked to say the least! I hate sand on my feet and in my shoes. Needless to say, I am packed to leave friday for a cruise on Sunday and the first thing I added to my suitcase.

Enjoy your cruise and look around the board a while. There are many posts with does and don't of packing. Here's another don't - don't pack everything everyone else suggests - you won't be able to lift your bag! But seriously you will find a number of really good suggestions with just a little searching. Read and take those suggestions that seem best to you.

don't take new shoes! Take things that you know you're comfortable in... nothing worse than new shoes because of that phantom swelling that sometimes occurs at sea especially if you like shellfish! Just keep drinking water, water, water!

Good suggestion on the water. Always drink a lot, especially in the morning after I get up. My body just thrives for it. A good habit I have at home. Bob

underwear One year I forgot to pack underwear. ( the shops sold some luckly)
Suntan lotion= pack your own in checked luggage. what the ship carries is too expensive and what I purchased on shore turned me white as a ghost.

Be sure to take a charger for anything with batteries, like camera or cell phone. Also, take along a few ziplock baggies in different sizes. They weigh almost nothing and you will be amazed how often you need to keep something wet, dry, or all together.

Here are some things I take and why

Highlight pens- use to highlight the activities list in the "Capers". We take one color for each person and one extra that is the color for things we all want to do. And we ask for an extra capers so we each have our own. The list rips off and i fold it up and keep it behind my sign & sail card in my...

Neck wallet- they do sell souvenier neck wallets. All I need is my sign & sal and the fold up ship map and activities list that is highlighted for the day.

Post-it Notes- Great for leaving notes on the cabin door for the steward and for leaving notes on mirror or tv for cabin mate.

Fabric Softener Sheets- just toss a few in each suitcase. You unpack and your clothes will smell nice and fresh. And you have them for doing laundry on board. I stick them in a ...

Zip Lock Bag- Zip locks are great for many things just put a few of different sizes in your suitcase. snack size through gallon size.

Duct Tape- good for many things from repairing a broken suitcase to a temporary hem. my dads dress shoe sole came off at the toe and we had to put a piece around the shoe to hold it together.

Bungie cords- we used for holding the balcony door open for fresh air in the cabin and for holding the bath door open at night.

Night Light- small one plugged into the outlet in the bath. That's why we leave the door open.

Travel Size Lysol for obvious reasons- I spray the phone bed spread and shower right away.

Travel size Fabreez- I hate the smell of smoke and there have been times I've had a non smoking cabin or hotel room that just reeks. Fabreeze takes care of it.

Plug bar & extension cord. That way I can plug in chargers for electronics and it not in the way.

Personal Contact cards /lables- good to give to people you want to keep in touch with. And you don't need to keep writing down your name address phone and email.

Umbrella- small compact. Good for shade and the occaisional cloud burst.

Soft sided lunch cooler -they fold down to nothing and if you are like me a little cheap and concerned about eating at some ports you just order sandwhiches comes with chips, order cookies and fruit from room service. Pack it in the zip locks you brought. Double bag some ice in those zip locks. and a couple of bottles of water pack it all up in your soft sided cooler bag. We have been very happy we did that. Especially one time in Belize.

If you write post cards. Print out the names and addresses of those you may want to send a card to. That way you only need to write the card and slap on a lable and stamp. ...I'm lazy lol.

They are not big things but they have helped me. Hope they help you.

I don't think I have ever forogt anything when I am going on a cruise. I always pack in advance so I dont forget anything because its not like I can just go to the store and pick something up. The only thing I bring is some plastic hangers. I like to have some extra hangers to hang up pants and other things. The hangers that Carnival has always can't hold pants. I think it is just easier to bring my own and not ask for more.

Be sure to call your credit card company or bank and let them know you'll be traveling and where.

I'm going to spie it up. I know what I would have liked to take HOME with me...alas, I doubt they would have gone with me willingly ad I didn't have any room in my suitcase to fit them....There was also the issue of my suitcase being overweight.....I wanted to take the cruise director and the maitre'd of the golden dining room home with me when I got off the Victory....Alex would have...uhm, no, I best not say that....Steve would have been good comic relief as well as eye candy...but Alex, oh my, ladies, any of you who've been on the Liberty recently do tell me what your opinion of Alex is/was.....He is not hard to miss, he is tall, bald, muscular (oh ya baby), and Lithuanian....Looks good in black, but you can see the bulging arms in white better
