Default Has any 1 had a cabin w/ an obstructed balcony on the PRIDE

I can get a real good deal on the Carnival Pride for a cabin with an obstructed balcony.

Does anyone have a picture of how obstructed it is? Can you still see any of the ocean, does any light still come in?

On the November 30th sailing, I can get a cabin with an obstructed view for only $509.00 that is 185 sq. feet for the room or I can get a 220 sq. ft. room with an obstructed ocean view and no balcony or I can get a 185 sq. ft room with a window which is not obstructed.

Which one would you get since all are the same price? The one with a obstructed balcony and a bit smaller room, the larger room with obstructed view or the regular room with a clear view?

If any of you have pictures of the obstructed balcony, can you send them to:

We sailed on the Pride July 27th with obstructed balcony. We were 7A Upper cabin 5188. We have sailed Carnival many times and prefer balcony. The room was the same in size as any balcony room but the balcony itself was much smaller. My DH thought it was fine however I did not like it at all. While you were out at sea it was fine, you could look out at miles of ocean but when in port you could not look down at the dock or watch people come and go. I personally would not take a obstructed view balcony again

If you Google "Carnival Pride obstructed cabins" click on images, several pics. will come up......some of them are completely obstructed, but others are not. You could also add your category or cabin number when you do the search.

I got the obstructed view, last August on the pride. I got it for the insid price, so thought I would try it. It is much better than haing an inside room. Look on the deck plans and pick a cabin that looks like it is in between the lifeboats. I have pic, if you are still interested.

Most obstructed view rooms are not obstructed that much. If you tell lme hwt your room number is, I can tell you more about your room.

[color=darkblue]It sure is Bob! I know that not all obstructed balcony's are that obstructed, but when I came across that picture I thought that I would post it just so that folks could see what they might end up with.....that is, unless they do a bit of research first. There are also some balcony's where the lifeboat is almost up to the railing, this would be okay when you are standing up, but not so good when you are sitting down.color]

Found a couple more pics.....these are MUCH better than the other one. The first one is not a balcony, but gives you an idea of the different types of obstructions there are. I found these pics. on the Cruisemates website, so maybe you'll be able to find more in the photo gallery.
