Default Price Reduction

My wife and I have already paid off our cruise which is November 15, 2008. My wife discovered the the cost of the cruise has gone down. Can we get a price reduction even after paying off our cruise? We would even be happy with some on board credit. Does anyone know the answer to this question? Thanks!!

Call your PVP or a rep at Carnival and ask for the difference in the form of an OBC. In the event that they say that they will not do it, call back the carnival number at 1-800-819-3902 and dial extension 83369. It will get you a supervisor. Ask them for the same thing. In the last week I have gotten $120.00 OBC as the cost of the 5 day Destiny cruise went from 299 to 179, just by asking a supervisor. Definetly worth a shot! $120.00 is alot of Miami Vice's!

You shouldn't even have to do that. When I worked Res for CCL, if the price goes down, you can either get the diff back on your credit card or onboard credit which is the easiest thing. I don't think it's changed. Just call the number and have them change to the current rate

I have never gotten a credit after the cruise has been paid for. THey always give me OBC which is fine as you have to pay for it anyway one way or another.. always call them as it works almost every time..

It just depends upon how many days out before your cruise. Since we had a couple months we were given a credit to our card. With either form you know you are going to spend it one way or another.

YEA!! Thanks for the good advice -- I just happened to check our cruise set for next month and they offered to upgrade to ocean view for free or a balcony for $160.00 total - so we took it! We usually just go "on the cheap" since we're not in the room much but who could pass that up?? I am so excited!! Thanks for the heads up and to the original poster!!!

They will only do this though if you book directly through Carnival right? I booked with an online travel site. I actually noticed my price had gone down today...sent an email to see if they will price match...but haven't heard back. Humm...
