I have to wonder if you have looked at the cruise brochures deck plan of the ship. The Lido deck is where the action happens. The main pools are here, the food, and outdoor entertainment. Most ships have one other deck where the indoor action takes place, usually you'll find the casino, bars, clubs, shops, etc on that deck.
Read the brochures deck plans or go to the cruise lines web page and they have detailed interactive deck plans for each ship.

My favorite too. Pools and all the food selections of the buffet are there. Can't wait till my next cruise in April. We decided to try a cabin on the Lido. We'll be on the new Splendor.

It is where all the pools are, the big tv's on some ships, and the buffetts. And so much more!! It is where most of the fun happens!!!!
