We went on this excursion earlier this month. Via the Carnival Legend.

They will hold up to 8 people. They try to accommodate everyone with a truck for each group. There were only three of us and we got our own truck. The back seats are bench style so it can get a bit rough for backseat passengers.

One of the best excursions I've ever been on. When you tender in from the boat you go to Old Belize and board a large bus for the ride into the jungle. Once there everyone puts on headlamps for a tour of some small caves. Theres a sketchy rope bridge you have to cross on the way. The hike in is mild. If it is the first cave you've ever been in you might be impressed, but otherwise it's unremarkable. The guides were informative and friendly. Then you head back to camp to load up into the 4x4s. It had just rained in Belize and the ruts were full of mud and water which made for some awsome 4-wheelin fun. At one point a tree fell down over the "road" and the guides hopped out grabbed a machete and proceded to hack it to bits and we were back off again. Afterwords you go to a nice little garden setting for some excellent lunch of chicken, rice and slaw. There was this cute little animal running around that looked similar to a racoon. He was very friendly and liked to play. They called it quash, or cutimondi. After lunch you get back on the tender right there in the garden for a nice ride down a river that empties into the bay. But instead of taking you to the boat, they take you to the docks in Belize City. Oh yeah after the driving is done they serve free rum punch. Its excellent and potent. In Belize City we had plenty of time for shopping and whatever. We ate some more food at the Wet Lizard. Very tasty. We also had drinks at a mexican restaurant that I don't remember the name of, but it had a view of the tender so we could wait and catcch the very last one.
Anyway, excellent excursion!!
