Default Fuel surcharge fee???

Is it just me or does it bother others about this fuel surcharge fee?

We all know they will never get rid of it, so, why don't they just give us the price of the cruise all inclusive instead of tacking on this fee after they show the rates?

I know it's marketing, but come on, why don't they just sell a 7 day cruise for 199.00 then add 50.00 a day surcharge?

By the way, oil has gone down almost 50 percent to right around 100.00 a barrel, so, shouldn't the fuel surcharge be lowered to around 5.00 instead of 9?

Yes the price of oil is well below the point that they added the second fuel supplement. Just add it into the fare, we know that's probably what they are going to do anyway.

On Princess, the fuel surcharge is in the cabin price.

It depends on when the fuel is purchased. They don't buy it on the spot market, but rather purchase it in mass quantities months in advance.

Southwest hedged on fuel a few years ago and bought it years out. That is the reason you don't see this on Southwest and also the checked baggage fees.
