Default Back from the Valor

Well we made it back safe and sound to Arizona from Miami. Had a wonderful time! This is our review of the Valor, please keep in mind this was our first time on Carnival so be gentle in your replys. Flew into Ft. Lauderdale night before so we would not be rushed the day of saiilng. If anyone is coming from distance I would reccommend this option. The Go shuttle from Ft. Lauderdale airport was $18 per on the 21st of Sept. They use a 10 passenger van. Drops off in front of terminal. Embarkation was a nightmare, the terminal had some sort of computer hangup, took way too long to get on board. NOT Carnival fault, none the less it was a long wait. Cabin was ready when we got on board, 6256, our steward was Jose, very nice and polite young man. He and his team took really great care of us. Did not want for anything from the steward team!! The food on the Valor was by far the beat we have had on our four cruises, the deserts were to die for. Lots of choices. On the lido deck was Rosie's buffett. Good selection, aft from Rosies was the 24 hour pizza. Just aft of Rosies on the right hand side is an oriental grill and on the left side is a New York style deli. Upstairs on deck 10 at Rosies is the Fish and Chips, quite a selection. Never any crowd at the fish and chips, could never figure out why. The two main dining halls, the Lincoln and Washington are very nicely done and the service at our table was what I had expected, nothing really outstanding about the service. The entertainment in the main show room, the Ivanhoe, was really very good. Someone had asked on an earlier post about Jeff Laub, he was on the show the first night out and he had a late show as well in the Eagles lounge. In my opinion the man who stole the shows all week was comedian Percy Crews. This man is FUNNY!!! He was onboard for third night out. This was the night we got the edges of the storm Kyle. The only thing about the lounges was they are all Smoking!!! Once we learned our way around the Valor we had no prolbem finding places, On deck 5 is a really nice coffe shop, the Java, prices were very good as well. If you are looking for shoping on board the Valor,,don't. The shopping was good at best. Did better off the ship. The Valor was kept very clean by a very attentive crew, always saw someone cleaning something, even if it did not need cleaning. Ports of call were good, made them all right on time as well. We used a cab on Nassau and had an hour tour for $35, seen all we wanted to see. On St. Thomas and St. Maarten we used Island Excursions, the excursions we good but the transportation getting there was not so good. Got into Miami right on time had no problem getting of the Valor. We rented a car, Dollar, they rent from Port of Maimi and they have a bus that takes you to Miami airport to pick up, this bus is free and took about 15-20 minutes to Dollar, Dropped car off at Ft. Lauderdale airport a day later. No extra charge for renting and dropping off at two different airports so close together. In Ft. Lauderdale I would reccomment 15th Street Fisheries and Dockside Cafe. The foof was awesome and the prices were not our of site. The cafe is next to the Ft. Lauderdale cruise docks. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

Sounds GREAT to me! I can't wait to try the Valor sometime. Speaking of Percy Crews? He was on the Carnival Liberty when we went June last year and he was HILARIOUS! I can't beleive he was on your ship.

Percy was on the Valor back in January when I sailed so hes making a career of it on that ship... from what I remember he was pretty funny but then again I forget jokes an hour after I hear them,,,

I was on the Sept 7-14 sailing on the Valor and must say what a BIG difference with the Destiny. Everything was top notch, also the price.

Rose, I think that we know you. Were you on the Parrott Head cruise last year. There was that beach party in St. Thomas for the Parrotheads and I was there with my friends Micki and Burt. We had a great time. Bob

Our curise director was Chris Jefferson from the UK, did a nice job. Those guys put in a lot of hours and work for us. He had several assistants that ran a lot of the events for him. I liked his live call in show on the closed circuit tv, that was a hoot. There was so much more I did not mention but I felt as the review was way too long as it was.

We had a balcony on the Upper deck, level 6, close to level 5. Easy to get to the Ivanhoe and the coffee shop. Balcony is a great way to crusie.

Can you edit your post & break it up into paragraphs? It's tough reading.
