With the exception of the Holiday, a class unto itself, Fantasy class all are insides with two bunks.

Triumph class and Conquest class though, many are one twin with one convertible sofa, so you dont have a bunk bed, and about half have two port holes, imo better and larger than a inside cabin.

If you give us a ship name, folks can be more specific.

Default 1a cabins

We had a 1a cabin on the Fascination and it was fine for two of us. Bunk beds, and everything else you would find in an inside cabin. It was a little smaller than an inside but it met all our needs.

Some even have portholes for the interior price.

Okay I figure something out that can help you. Here is Carnival Freedom deck plan. This symbol means it's a stateroom with two portholes. All the beige colored rooms are 1A but only 2212, 2216, 221, and 2247 have portholes. This symbol means Twin Bed and Single Convertible Sofa. So you can go to the Carnival site and check out the deck plans for the ships you are interested in. Here is a link.http://www.carnival.com/FunShips.aspx

Spendor - cat 1-A

Porthole Stateroom

Single bed, TV All staterooms feature carpeting, ample drawer and closet space, private facilities (shower, basin and toilet), telephone and color TV.

Average size: 160 square feet

On Decks: Riviera, Main, Upper, Verandah

Riviera and Main cabins have portholes, Upper and Verandah are interior cabins only, no portholes. There seems to be only 23 Cat 1-A on the ship.

I looked at the 1A on Splendor the ones on Verandah and Upper don't have portholes. Only on Riveria and Main and these rooms are at the front of the ship. So if you want a Porthole IA can pick from these rooms.
Riveria: 1202, 1206, 1201, & 1205. Main: 2216, 2217, 2212, & 2211> I personally don't like Riveria deck it's on the bottom so here is the deck plan for the main deck.
