Default Can you tell me about check-in at the Queen Mary?

I hear it is possible to check in at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Where do you check in there? Can you leave your luggage there? How early can you check in there? Do you get your ship card there? Once checked in at the Queen mary, do all you have to do is just walk onto the ship once they allow boarding or do you still have to wait in line?

Hi there

The Queen Mary is permanently docked in Long Beach and is a hotel. It doesn't go anywhere. You would check in just like you would at any hotel. There's no embarking process.

A friend of mine attended a wedding there and said it was very nice. No worries about getting seasick.

I'll explain as best as I can.

The luggage you are checking is given to the porters, you do not check it at either the Queen Mary or the dome.

At the BACK end of the Queen Mary - very well sign posted - is the early check-in area (under the white dome where the Spruce Goose used to be). You show your cruise paperwork to the lady standing there and you are then directed in to a room where, after a short wait in line, they do all the necessary paperwork, set up your S&S account, and process everything you need in order to board. They will give you instructions and a piece of paper that says "ZONE 1" on it. At that point you are free to roam around, have breakfast, tour the museum, take a bus over to Shoreline Village - whatever you want to do.

They start forming the "Zone" lines outside the dome about 11:45.
Zone 1 line is for people who already have their S&S cards in hand, and just need to go through security and have their pictures taken. They will check to make sure you have that slip of paper with Zone 1 on it, so make sure you don't lose it.

The zone 2 and 3 lines are for people who did not do early check-in. They have to go through security, and then go to the desks and do all the paperwork, get their S&S cards, etc., and then have their pictures taken.

Early check-in is definitely the way to go if you can do it.

Have a GREAT trip.
