A BIG Thanks Yoeman.....
That was a good honest review of the Fantasy....
I am sure it will improve over the next few months....

Did they change the seats in the buffet area, I always loved the Conquest in the way they did their SOFT seats ("J" couch style) in the buffet area... You could stretch out near the windows, get some hot chocolate & relax (after the buffet closes of course)....
Thanks again,
Bob & Kathy

I am embarassed to say that "I don't remember".

What I do remember about Lido is that it is nothing like the Imagination.

On the Imagination, where the pizza, deli and bar used to all run together across the back of Lido inside.....NOW it is a Bar, a very very very nice seating area and the pizza and the Deli was a stand alone kiosk in the center of the room.

The Fantasy still had the old configuration of pizza, deli and bar running across the back.

The best part that with all our On Board Credit.....our Sail and Sign balance was $1.09!!!!!!! I am not kidding!!!!!!!!!! woo hoo

i am disappointed. I guess by the time i sail on Nov. 20 things will be better. I'm hopeful. I work in a business where compensation and customer service and satisfaction are absolutely key. In some ways, that can be good because no matter where I go and who i am with, I have become a more polite, generous and courteous and helpful person - at work or not. However, it's bad when it comes to going other places because I have such a higher expectation of the people serving me and the environment and just every aspect. So I was looking forward to great service, which i usually get on Carnival. I understand a few tweaks here and there but the carpet should have been done - brand new and pristine - not raggedy on a ship that I am sure 90% of cruisers KNOW has just been refurbished. Drink machines should work and the waterlides for goodness sake should be open and properly fiiunctioning NOT causing problems in other areas - after all that is a major part of the cruise for a lot people - swimming and hanging by the pool/slide area on at sea days. I am not trying to sound know it all and critical but let's face it as a customer embarking on a cruise that we have to pay for and especially not a first time cruise, we have high expectationd from such a reputable line. However, I have a feeling that Carnival will come up with a good compensation after this. They've got too.

You are still a month away....so things should be fine by the time you sail.

It was MUCH improved by the time we sailed on the second sailing.

So that gives me hope that it will get better and better until all is well!!

We have been on both Fantasy [April 28th] and Holiday [October 6th] this year, and we did find Holiday to be in better overall condition. Ships, like hotels, go through several ups and downs in the cosmetic and short-life equipment areas during the longer service life of the basic systems. I am happy that there are a lot of folks who write off a ship after ten years. It reduces the demand for the ones I like most. I could never figure why people call a ship like Holiday too small and then pay major bucks to sail on a luxury ship half its size.

Ainsley please let us know if they are still working on the ship during your cruise, how the serenity area is (very crowded), which shows they are currently doing etc.
