Default Fantasy n Teens

Ok this question may have been asked .. but since I can not find it I am going to ask ...

My 2 teen nieces will be on the Fantasy for their first cruise ... how are the teem programs ...

One is 17 and the other will turn 14 in Dec ... will they be able to be in the same group ...

What kind of things can they look forward to ...

BTW ... we are going on the 10/27/08 cruise .. will there be any teens from the board here going as well ...

Thanks for any and all help ...

From the Carnival site...

http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Articles...rtual2007.aspx

"..........part of a dramatic transformation of the open decks of Carnival Cruise Lines’ eight Fantasy-class ships.
With Carnival expected to carry a record 600,000 kids this year, particular emphasis is being placed on family friendly amenities, with new and expanded play areas, part of the line’s top-rated “Camp Carnival” program, and new facilities for the “Club O2” teen program. Custom-designed spaces geared toward 12- to 14-year olds – part of the new “Circle C” program.."

I hate to say this, but your 17 year old teen will not want to hang out with the other teens, she'll want to be checking out the 18-25 year olds and be sneaking drinks while your not looking!

Sorry, but it's the truth!

Hi Candy,
They will be in seperate programs in different rooms.
In the Atrium on Deck 8 is Circle C for 12-14 year olds.
In the Atruim on Deck 9 is Club O2 for 15-17 year olds.

If you were sailing on the following cruise, I would have my two daughters with me. Make sure you go to the Camp Carnival Welcome Aboard event. They will have Capers specific to the age group of the events going on for the 4 days.

ok for starters im 17 and i dont do that and actually id rather be in club o2 than in the adult club with some old drunk men trying to grind on me because thats just gross. we have just as much fun as adults and you cant classify ALL teens in one group. I HATE it when people do that. Some teens can be mature and not act like idiots. You dont need to put all of us in the same category.

Also on another note:

I WILL BE ON THIS CRUISE!!!! YAY!!! I have been waiting for someone to come on this board with teens! I am 17 and my sister is 14! =) yay! We are doing a meet up on the 27th at the putt putt at 2pm. we have a roll call on cruise critic. this is my 8th cruise and last as a teen. I will be 18 a week after we return. =( boo! haha but if your nieces have any questions feel free to ask me. You can also IM me or PM me =)

Ainsly ... thank you for your response ... I agree not all teens should be classed such as one poster did ... I know there are some that are going to drink, but my 17 year old niece is not one of them ...I have sent you a PM with her email addy so that the 2 of you may chat ... she does not get online much due to school, school related activities and work ... she will however check her email today to see if you have sent to her ...

Thanks to all those that responded ... I am hoping that the girls will join the clubs and such ... I also know them well enough that they may just decide to hang out with each other ... that is why I wanted to know since the one will be 15 in Dec, yes I know, we are going 6 weeks before her birthday, if she can be with her sister ... however she may find someone on the boards here and may not want to hang with her sister ...

Again thanks to all

Candy

haha thanks everyone =) i really just dont like it when people decide to throw all teens in one category when there is some teens that are more mature than someone in their late 20's. Anyways CannerPearl I sent your niece a message. Like I said we are having a meet up the first day at the mini golf course. You should meet up with everyone =) its at 2pm.

I cannot wait for this cruise! =))

uhm i have yahoo but i havent used it in years. my sister has an email but only uses it for her myspace. she rarely gets on the computer but loves to fiddle with her myspace so maybe your younger niece has an email that my sister can add her on myspace with? or worse case just get them to make an account on here and post on the teen forum under the "people" category and we can all help them on there and ill get my sister to get on there too to talk to your younger neice.

Hey....I just got off the Fantasy and your teens will have a ball.

Club O2 is on the Promenade deck (Atrium area) and Circle C is one floor below on Atlantic (Atrium area). Both are complete and fully operational.

Iman is the Club O2 director. She is from Tennesse and she is a DELIGHT!!! (and a huge Gators fan) Tell her that DJ said hi!!!!

While your teens won't be "together" .... their Club Rooms are close...both being in the Atrium area (one deck apart)!!

Have a great cruise!!!

they usually dont allow the groups to mix due to different reasons. like if their birthday was like a day after they got off the cruise then maybe. or maybe even a week. but most of the time they are separated. there are some activities that club o2 competes with circle c in. those are alot of fun. but keep in mind that your teens dont have to go to the teen areas. me and my sister do alot at home together. like this friday night we are going to the fair =) but cruising is sooo different i think they will love the idea of having their own friends! =)

LHP! =) you are like my info center!! I have been trying to find out who the o2 director was for like 3 weeks. haha I had Timmy in April but now he is on the Conquest. He was truely AMAZING! I love having good o2 directors when they get really invovled with what they are doing. Anyways any more info you may have on the o2 director feel free to share! haha thanksss

Hi, is your youngest niece in high school? My daughter was 14 and in high school. She brought her high school ID and they let her in with the high school kids- it was a month before her birthday. Now this was on the Miracle but you could see if the same applies on the Fantasy. When we sailed on the Fantasy in April she really didn't use the teen club. That was because there were 150 15-year-old dancers on board and it was wicked crowded. Otherwise she always has a good time. The cruise will be what they make of it. Ainsley, in your defense, my daughter doesn't drink either and can't stand older guys messing with her. She would probably knee them and then get in trouble for that! Enjoy your cruise, all of you! Michelle

Ocean Mom is correct.

They are very strict about ages in Club O2 because you are dealing with 17 year old boys with raging hormones...so they have to be careful not to put a young lady in there that is too young.

Having said that, 14 year olds are usually the exception IF they are in high school (bring the ID) AND they were going to be 15 within the next 3 months. (sometimes the high school id alone is enough) But it is still left up to the Club O2 director. They have the final call.

18 is absolutely not allowed in, even if they are still in high school (again for legal reasons)

Kudos to all the teens who are choosing to be leaders and not followers where drugs and alcohol is concerned. I can't imagine the pressures today. You have my utmost respect!!!

No matter what a 17 year will say, female hormones are also raging! Look out!

Thank you!

and peninsularoad please just hush. you are the only one bashing teens. unlike alot of teens i dont wanna get knocked up before i go to college. apparently you have some reason to say that teens have hormones and crap...so it either has something to do with your past or your own teens. but just because whatever your reason may be please dont put all teens like that. because unlike alot of teens i do have plans for my life and future and a baby, drugs, and alcohol is not in the running for my future.

You go Ainsley. There is so much fun to be had for teens without drinking, drugs and sex. It should be a fun time, not an animal house. No time for that nonsense. Bob

My three teenage girls have gone with me on 3 occasions.
They had a wonderful time. They have met and continued great friendships with some of the girls/guys they met onboard.

Remind them that life is about CHOICES and to make the best ones even on the ship. They will have a WONDERFUL time. They must choose to join in and participate in the activities.

One requirement was they HAD to be a Dinner and then they could stay out late. It is a floating resort and there can be trouble if they don't use their head. Mine only got in trouble for finding areas on the ship that were OFF LIMITS. Not real trouble just couldn't be on the bridge.
They found places that I didn't know existed.

They were offered drinks but refused them. Be careful on the excursions that offer drinks.

I am so proud of them that we have scheduled another.

Be sure to take the OVER THE DOOR shoe holder to hold their shoes and other things. A power strip also. and TURN OFF the cell Phones. WOW expensive.

Bon Voyage,
Nancyb
