World's Largest Cruisenight---A lot of hype about nothing
I don't know about you guys but the hype about the World's Largest Cruisenight sale is a bunch of bunk!!!!! Carnival is only offering a lousy upgrade for this fabulous sale. (and I do use the term fabulous lightly) What kind of sale is this??? Not much in my book. Don't get me wrong- I LOVE CARNIVAL but the hype about this sale is much ado about nothing.
I agree. The upgrade isnt from inside to outside or outside to balcony, its deck 5 to deck 6 etc. This is often a $10-20 difference. Not much incentive to me. Hope the reservations dept doesnt get overloaded with phone calls.

Check out our Cruise bargains at the top of the page, and our advertisers. Go to their websites, and sign up for their emails You can also google cruise agencys. Check out last minute deals they have too...
A caveat though, I got an email last night, and when I called just now, they were gone...The ability to pounce fast is needed.

I agree, it is always an apples to apples upgrade (as briguy stated above), you'll never receive an upgrade from an OV to a balcony or inside to outside. If you positively want a balcony stateroom, you need to book it in a lower category and they will give you a one or two category upgrade, depending upon the sale they are promoting, to a higher deck (8B to 8D), that's all it means and the savings pricewise is minimal. The cruises they are booking now for 2009 and beyond, the more monies to the bottom line in the way of deposits received for end of the year financial statements. The company I worked for had the same sales and marketing strategy, they bombarded the Sales people with high quotas at the end of the year.
I agree. I don't know where the bargains are but I can tell you it's not out of New York. We just booked the Miracle for Sept 2009. I checked many many websites for bargains and the prices were all exactly the same as Carnival's. Carnival would not guarantee side by side cabins on the balcony guarantee booking so we had to book an 8A at a higher price. We did jump on a military discount they were giving for the date we picked which dropped $400 off our cabin but we still paid so much more by not taking the balcony guarantee. We have first time cruisers going with us and wanted the cabins together to open up the balconies to sit together. I'd really like to see them drop the fuel surcharge but I'm sure I'm simply hallucinating over that one!
