Carnival to film commercial in Dallas Oct 25-26

Join Carnival Cruise Lines beach ball bash as the Carnival team attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the World's Largest Inflatable Beach Ball. At the event you can win one of five free cruises for a family of four on a Carnival Fun Ship. The event will include a fun booth, live local music, food and much more! Starting at 12 Noon.


DOWNTOWNDALLAS, in partnership with the Dallas Film Commission, is thrilled to announce two legendary days of fun coming to the Main Street District. And the whole world will see it! Mark your calendars for Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26, for this not-to-miss Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL) promotion.

CCL will spend two days filming a commercial featuring Downtown Dallas...and the world's largest beach ball! Of course EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas so it will be an astounding 35ft in diameter and three stories tall. The current record is 33ft. The Guinness Book of World Records will also be on site along with a full film crew to record the action as Dallasites go for the record and bounce this ball down Elm Street. We've also heard a rumor that hundreds more smaller balls will be floating from the sky! So come out and participate in the commercial!

Dallas will see arguably its splashiest commercial shoot ever next month, while the North Texas independent film scene is fighting just to stay afloat.
Look for huge helium-filled beach balls to be cast off downtown buildings in late October with 500 paid extras on hand for the two-day shoot of a Carnival Cruise Lines commercial that could air during the Super Bowl.
The event will be open to the public, says Janis Burklund of the Dallas Film Commission, which is working closely with the Downtown Dallas Association.
