Default Conquest class ship Vibration

Just returned from the Carnival Conquest and I have to report that the aft vibration is much more pronounced than I have ever experienced in the past (seven cruises on her).

Not sure of the cause, but I am very concerned having two aft cabins booked on future cruises.

How obvious is the aft vibration on other Conquest class ships?

When I was on the Freedom when it was less than a year old, there was no aft vibration. We could barely even feel that the ship was moving!

When we were on the Freedom, we didn't feel the vibration and we were at the aft.

We were on Valor in late Sept. and did not notice a whole lot of vibration. Some on Tuesday but that was due mostley to storm we went around.

Obviously the Conquest is oldest of class. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

I had a note from someone who read my blog and stayed in the very cabin I had two weeks earlier. It was very bad for them on only two nights, but they had to get the steward to open the refrig & stuff it with towels to stop vibration noise.

Yea it is probably the age of the ship because when I was on the Spirit and I had an aft cabin there was vibrartion and had to use different things to try to stop it.

I noted the vicration on the Liberty in the dining room as we were leaving Cozumel. The ship was pushing away from the pier, so I assume it was because we were shoving off that the vibration was so noticable. The other nights in the aft dining room were fine!!!

I was on the Conquest about one month ago for the first time, so have nothing to compare it against. I was on Ecstasy, but not in the aft.

There was a vibration in the floor all the time. Someone came to my cabin, I told her I had a good deal and she wanted to compare it and said she didnt know if you could stand having that vibration, by then I was like what vibration and then became aware of it. I had put it out of my mind by then.

If you don't want vibration, stay in a hotel.

Big difference in movement, pitch, roll, etc, and vibration. Especially extreme vibration. I've sailed the Conquest seven times and this was very different.

I've posted because I think there is something possibly wrong and want it to be addressed.

Maybe the vibration was from the room next to you. They may have brought on a giant vibrator, judging by the size of some women, I can olny imagine how big the vibrator must be! !

I'll bet the Conquest hit a mud bottom with the prop causing a slight out of balance problem...

Could have in the Houston ship channel easily. I'm sure not ALL channels were checked after Ike especially right there at Bayport. (opposite container basin) Hadn't thought of that.

I was on the cruise that Ike hit, and the vibration was already there ... constantly. I was in cabin 2462. A friend I meet on board and played cards with came to the cabin and said she didnt think she could stand that vibration. It didnt happen after Ike. It was already there.

I went in June and it was there. I would only hear it when we went into port or coming out. By the way i was in 2468.

The Conquest has side thrusters for manerving in close quarters for docking, departing & tight turns....
This why they don't need tug boats to dock...
This may be the vibration you feel near the port....

It is probably just age. Becuase the Spirit has some vibration at the aft of the ship.
