Your chances are slim, especially since it's a new ship, it will have a bigger demand. In addition, they will upgrade higher paying first. However, keep checking the price, if the price goes down, you can either get ship credit or an upgrade or money credit back to your account.

little to nothing. You are the lowest paying room so everyone else will get upgraded before you

There is always a chance you could get upgraded on your 1A guaranty to a inside cabin. Arent there any 1A portholes you could grab though?? Id rather have a 1A porthole than be upgraded to a regular inside.

I think it's just the opposite. You have a higher chance of being upgraded than those paying more. Every category up is an upgrade so you have a much higher % of potential cabins than those that have paid more.

Flowers makes a point, if you can get a choice 1A, take it over the upgrade.

Like 8th, I too have been upgraded several times from a 1A guarantee traveling as a solo.

We almost always get upgraded from 1A,,,usually to 4A or even better. I agree with Snooze,,that the more demand for the ship there is, the better your chance of an upgrade. (They'd rather sell the 1A's again, and upgrade you, than turn away someone)

Sometimes you know for sure that you will be ugraded. I;m going to book a 1-A for the Splendor Nov 17-21 and looks like this cat is sold out. Usually when it says to be assigned the category is sold out.

Empress is a great deck to be on no matter which ship.

I've had great experiences with upgrades. I booked a 1A in July and was put on the Empress Deck (7).

Just FYI, flowers, there is no such thing as a 1A with a porthole. The 1A's are in the middle of the ship.
I actually like those cabins.

It is true on the Fanasty class ships, the 1As don't have portholes. However, on the newer ships they do. I have seen in a 1A with a porthole on the Freedom. These rooms are normally on the forward part.

Hey well you look at that today Carnival is having a one day sale. http://www.carnival.com/cms/fun/spec...gflashODSOct08

Sorry I'm A.D.D. Here is the Freedom deck plan. This symbol shows it's a porthole room. This is the 1A color
THis is the Freedom Rivieria Deck Plan. Rooms 1207, 1211, 1206, and 1212 are all porthole rooms. This symbol is for a Twin Bed and Single Convertible Sofa. So rooms 1207 and 1206 have this. Rooms 1426 and 1435 are 1As on this deck without portholes.

Wow COOL. Sometimes I love being wrong. Thanks for the gentle correction, katlady!
