Galveston Webcam

Just went out to the Galveston Webcam and saw the Ecstasy there. I am glad Carnival is back in Galveston. It is good to see the area recovering from the hurricane. I have a question. If the Ecstasy docks at Puerta Maya pier, will you need a taxi to get to downtown, or are there shops near the pier. If you need a taxi, do you pay in Pesos or US dollars. When we sailed in January, we docked at Punta Longosta and didn't need a taxi. We sail again in January 2009 and need this information to plan. Thanks for your help. This board was very helpful to us on our first cruise.

There should be shops right by the dock. Also you can use us dollars since it it is abig tourist area.

Yup, there are nice shops. Taxi to town is $3 per person.

The Web Cam is a wide angle lens so makes it seem far away....
