Default Missed your ship?

Just curious. Have any of you ever missed your ship after an excursion? If so,what happens? Does a Cruise line rep meet you at the pier to help you on your way? I know you are responsible for the cost. I'm not planning on this happening ,just curious .

Its never happened to me, but have seen it happen to others right when we left the pier. One time the coast guard took the people to meet the ship. Of course, they had just missed it by a few minutes, any longer, I think you are on your own..

That must be one big nightmare to miss the ship. Have seen people running for the ship while sitting on my balcony and the horn has just blown! Bob

well in cabo the ship was turing around to go back out and we stoped the for another 2 passagers on the tender boats

but if they would have missed the boat at cabo on my sailing they would been in luck 5 hr later we had to turn back because of a sick passager so i guess in that case they could have gotton back on then.

my last cruise on the fantasy which was over halloween 4 passengers were left in progreso all females. a man went on a gameshow i think it was and he said that he had been on "X" amount of cruises on the fantasy and for the first time out of all his cruises something new had taken place the night before. he said that 4 beautiful women were seated at his table. when he got to talking to them the ecstasy left them in progreso by 30 minutes or so. of course we docked with them the next day and they were allowed back on their own ship but it happens all the time im sure. thats one thing i can honestly say will NEVER happen to me haha im always flipping out about getting back to the ship on time.

Two folks I know just got off the 11/01 sailing and the only persistant problem they still have is with the sewer smell. It seems to be stronger on Riveria and Main...but some could be detected UPPER forward as well.

Sure hope they get that fixed!!

She is right, the only problem was the sewer and it was really, rally bad. As has been posted, the riveria and main decks seem to have it the worst.

Well that just is the pits (I could say worse) as my friends are on the Rivera deck...........first cruise..........and if a sewer smell is constant, will be their last. Hope not.......but not a good thing for Carnival!

I stayed in R37.. the smell was horrible at times but like I said I wasnt in there much so I didnt have to deal with it. The smell wasnt bad in my cabin just outside...the smell was never in my cabin just tell them to take some air nuetralizers and it wont be as bad if the smell is in their cabin.. but my entire family was all on the riviera deck R41, 37 and 27. Everything else was great the ship was amazing other than that one thing.. I hope they have an amazing cruise as I did. =)

Be careful cat.. if port time differs from ship time you may be waving aloha to your ship as it sails away with all your stuff...then you get to fly to the next port on your own dime.. wear a watch and keep it on ships time..

Default odor on ships

It happens. I always take this with me:

http://www.xocorp.com/

It eliminates odors AND I use it to disinfect the phone, TV clicker, etc. It has been on over 30 cruises with me and I wouldn't cruise without it. It's organic and can be used as a spritzer if needed. So many uses.

No, I don't work for them or have any financial interest on the company. It just works so well for me.

They should. I used to take XO, Clorox wipes, & Fabreze, but now that they have the combo odor/cleaner I just need the one bottle.

We almost missed our ship a few weeks ago in Nassau, due to some idiots from another ship taking their time returning to the tender we were taking back from an excursion on Blue Lagoon Island. We waited on that tender an hour (would have made it back in PLENTY OF TIME) if not for the jacka** people who apparently have no respect for the other 200 people waiting. After making it well known to the poor captains of the tender that I was PISSED (and frantic), they radioed to our ship and told them we were on the way. Back at the pier to golf carts picked the 5 of us up (+ two other girls) and sped across the pier. How EMBARASSING. They were calling our names to the pursers desk as we ran back up the plank. Unbelievable.

Do you carnivalcruisers like that port time and ship time sometimes isn't the same or should you prefer that ship time was adjusted to port time every day?

When we did a transatlantic/Med./Greek Isles cruise, we were told when to change our watches each time so that we were on the same time as the places we were visiting. Therefore, we were all on the same time.
