Hopefully it will stay down until February so I can get some OBC for the fuel.

I'm really hoping that all of you get the OBC for the fuel. Looks like we're going to miss it by 2 days! Darn that November 4th!!!!! We could have really made use out of the extra $$.

WOW!! It went up a lot a little over $4.50. That is a change becuase for the longest time it was kept dropping. I hope this is not an indication that it is going to keep rising!!!

As I mentioned earlier in this thread as we get near turkey day the price will increase. The market has had 2 strong days and oil is a big part of it. Bummer for anybody that may be cruising soon.

Even though it is going up and down it is still well under $70. So I have faith that it will stay down.

Friday AFTER Turkey Day and it closes at 54.43 - still under $70 by a long shot.

Some analysts are saying the "right" price is about $70, while another technical analyst (only looks at trends) said it could go below $20!!!! (hah, fat chance).

I saw a study on what various countries need it to be priced at to remain profitable, and Iraq says $80. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1

Pricing is always based on what they think they can get for it, and demand is way down. They keep pumping so they have to sell it. Some countries can make a profit at $20, but most cannot.

I think it will stay down for quite awhile, but the bad thing is just ONE day over $70 and the count starts all over again.

We do not sail till December 13th, if it stays do you have to request it or does it automatically happen?

It has to stay down for 25 consecutive days, and 5 days prior to your cruise. They will automatically give you it on OBC.

BTW: Did you change your signature. Yesterday I sware it said you were going on the Celebration in 2008 and the Glory in 2009. I just rememebered that the Celebration is gone. Now it says 2007 and 2008. I was so tired yesterday I was probably the one that was wrong.

you are right, I had put the dates incorrectly......we went on Celebration last December

these were both last minute thoughts, but we got a great deal because of it!

Ok, so if we leave the 13th I just count back 25 days (including weekends I assume) and if it stays uncer a certain amount we are cool! woohoo

Crabby Apple: The only days that count are the trading days. That means weekends and holidays don't count. From what I gather, if the price continues to stay below $70, then the first cruise to get the credit will be the sailings beginning on December 18th. 3 days after mine.

I did not see todays price so I googled it and this is what I found....

Monday, December 1, 2008: NYMEX West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil for January delivery closed down $5.15 at $49.28 per barrel.

I took this from the NYMEX website, so I hope I am right.

Just keep your fingers and toeies crossed and maybe we will get our money back!!!!!

This is looking great. The oil is the lowest it has been on the countdown and it is looking pretty good for Fuel Supplement refunds.
