Ok...question. I am a little confused by the requirements. If the oil stays under $70 for 25 plus 5 days before the cruise, does that mean that it has to stay that way until I cruise in Feb? Could someone please explain this to me?

You will get your fuel surchage back in the form of shipboard credit if you are cruising on or after December 17, 2008 within the final payment date. So if you already were required to pay the final payment then you will get it back in OBC.

That stinks. Well at least you didn't expect to get it becuase you were not in the 30 day window. It would of been worse to think you were getting it and then they told you you wern't.

I called Carnival when I read this and was told that I WOULD be getting a refund to my CC in 3 weeks. I actually asked that it be done to a OBC but was told that I could not. So it might be best to call and ask how you will be getting your money. It might be based on when you sail. I dont sail until Feb 7th.

It's really good to hear that anyone who will be getting a refund back, will get it back to their credit cards. The amount is small, but I think, its the right way to proceed.

I contacted my TA on one of my bookings whose first reaction to everything is NO. They quoted me the old 25 days fuel, in spite of the fact that I sent them the new policy.

Still waiting to hear what they will do. I said I want a refund or a upgrade, your choice. Im in the paid off early category. I believe I have to go thru the TA first trying to get a reply yikes. This TA is on my never use again list. Got another Im sure I will just get the $5 fuel off my bill because its the only Carnival cruise I havent paid in full for next Sept. One Im not paying fuel, so cant get anything back!!! lol. (booked april 2007).

Almost makes me wish I had paid a lot of fuel to Carnival so I could get it all back,

Well I called back to Carnival again and now they tell me that it will be refunded as a OBC. I have talked to two different people at Carnival and have gotten two different answers. So I guess I shall want and see which I get.

According to the CCL website, if you haven't yet made final payment, you get a refund to your CC. If you have already made final payment, you get an onboard credit.
