i am growing increasingly excited for cruise, and it's not until sept. 2009. is that normal?

my partner and i are going, and it's our first cruise. it'll all also be my first time on a plane. we're going on the carnival fascination 5 day to the bahamas, leaving from jacksonville, fl. i can hardly wait. we had to book cruise around my class quarters, so it's later than i would've liked. i'm just so excited (and nervous).[/i]

Nope, pretty normal, but just wait until you've already been on a cruise, and know what you're in for. THEN you'll REALLY get excited! 8) Fascination is a great first cruise. It's long enough to get settled into a routing aboard ship, but not so long that if by some miracle there's something you didn't like about cruising, you're not stuck for two weeks. I have no doubt that you'll love cruisin', and we welcome you to CruiseMates. If you have any specific questions about your voyage, or the ship, or cruising in general, ask away. There are no "stupid" questions here, so don't be afraid to ask.

Oh, for sure its perfectly normal to feel the way you do. We all need something to look forward to, hope the time passes quickly for you.

Yea thats normal. I get excited the day I book the cruise. You will have a great time. Don't hesitate to post any questions.

i have to agree with everyone else. it's absolutely normal. I'm actually cruising on the Fascination this December from Jacksonville and i'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the ship when i return. I'm sure you're going to love it!

thanks everyone. i have been reading articles, which only serves to make me more excited.

trust me, i will post questions crazily. my current one: is seasickness a possibility? i'm not usually motion-sick, but i've never been on a ship, either.

thinking about transatlantic next May on the Liberty...unless that was one that got canceled. and absolutely a halloween cruise!

lyajoy, seasickness is always a possibility. buy you some dramamine before you go and take it if you start feeling quesy, just in case. i never get motion sick and 8 cruises later have yet to get seasick.

Iyajoy, most of the time you're on the ship, you would never know it. These big ships cruise pretty smooth. But, if you're very sensitive to motion, then you better take something for it, and start at least 48 hours before you go.

Welcome again to Cruisemates, it's a great resource and the people are great here, including the members how have replied to your original question. Hand in there, your day will come soon enough. The wife and I still have a few months before our 18 Day South American Cruise in March on the Splendor. It wasn't long before we realized that a 7 day cruise was NOT long enough. So, beware, you may succumb to the cruise fever.
