Default Just booked! Christmas present-suggestions on how to give:-)

My husband and I just booked a family trip aboard the Facination out of Jacksonville for June, 2009. We're giving it to our kids (teenagers) for Christmas. They are going to be so excited. They've both been on one cruise before (Dad and I a few more without them).

I'd love to hear a creative way to wrap up something for Christmas and put it under the tree. I thought of a piece of luggage with a note inside but we have so much luggage :-)

Any suggestions.

Here are a few:

For fun, pick up one of those blow up water toys;

an inexpensive life preserver;

a set of walkie talkies;

new swimsuits;

a picture of the ship;

I'll keep thinking.....

above ideas are great.

when i told my sister i was taking her on a 12 day European cruise we presented her with new luggage first (she didn't have any).

then i presented her with an envelope of a card, plane tickets, scrapbook pages of all the places we were going, cruise itinerary, ship details. it went over great!

Look for some sort of Carnival merchandise (I'm not sure if you can get anything from their website) or even create something using images from the website to create something.

If they are like typical teenagers just tell them you and your husband wont be going with them. They would love that Im sure. Of course they need an adult there but imagine their devilish minds at work if they knew you werent going to keep your eye on them....

I love doing treasure hunts. Start out with a large box (you can do boxes inside boxes each one wrapped). Inside leave a clue to the next clue (making the clues puzzlers is fun). i like the idea of beach toys; you could wrap the clue with each toy. With the final clue a website to go to that tells them the big surprise.

I would love to do this for my family too. Good for you! Hope you have a great time.

Get some kids pails or a bright colored basket....fill them up with flip flops, suntan lotion, a Carnival brochure, a reggae cd, stuff that will make them think tropical, and personalized for them....

You could get a big enough envelope say like 8.5 by 11 to put like plane tickets, cruise docs, funpass registration, a little cash, etc. Also you could get a picture of the ship. I thinks that a good way to give them the gift, but I will think of a different way.

A friend of mine took two of the fun ships, on a stick,and wrapped them up for his grand kids. I have extras, if you would like two of them.

I gave my girlfriend a cruise and what I did was go onto e-bay and bought one of those Carnivlal blow up ships. It's about a foot long and 4 inches wide. wraped the ship in a box and put the tickets along side the blown up ship tat was i the box.

You can buy these on ebay for about 10.00 including shipping!

my mom and stepdad took my stepbrother and I on a cruise as our christmas present. we left in feb 2007
what they did:

they printed up a fake itenenary to a hotel in ocean city maryland saying you can bring 1 of your friends and were going for 5 days, i was like cool this is gonna be fun.

well that was obviously just a trick and to build the excitement

the next present was the cruise 7 day caribbean
ofcourse we were both speechless, and deffinently caught up off guard.
so we werent really going to ocean city maryland.!

Find someone who has the Barbie Cruise Ship. I didn't even know one existed until a coworker put her daughter's up for sale this week! Tape a photo of the ship to the box. Another thought would be a box of coal and put the itinerary at the bottom of the box. Yet another, tropical shirts for your kids or get them each some beach toys so they at least have something to open!

Buy tropical shirts for the number of kids you have. Then in the pockets of the shirts write a portion of the message (You are going on a cruise for example) in each of the pockets. Cut each word seperatly and put the pieces of paper randomly in the pockets. Then they have to try to put them in order to get the message.
