Default Port of Galveston

Has anyone sailed from Galveston since the hurricane hit. What is the condition of the terminal?

I've heard reports that all is fine. Terminal like new. All parking lots open.

I very recently cruised out of the galveston port. As you drive down there, you see damage from the hurricane, but the port itself is in great condition.

Default is ferry working

I'm going on our cruise out of Galveston in January. Was the ferry damaged during the hurricane and if it was damaged...has it been fixed yet? I'm coming from Louisiana and just hoping that we don't have to go to Houston to get to Galveston.

Thanks for any info!!

When do you sail? We sail 01-29-2009. I am glad Galveston is recovering.

Welcome to Cruise Mates![/quote]

Thanks, I've been lurking and not posting for about 3 years.
I went on my first cruise "Carnival Festivale" while in college about 30 years ago and only starting cruising again about 3 years ago. Took my 2nd cruise on "Norwegian Sun" out of New Orleans and then this past January on "Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas" out of Galveston. This will be a repeat "Voyager of the Seas" but different ports. This will be my 3rd cruise with our KTDY group. It's a radio station that sponsors the cruise with 2 D.J. who have a Friday Morning show called "Polyester Power Hour" where they play music from the 70's, 80's and 90's. Can't wait for January for some rest and relaxation.
