Does Carnival do anything special when crossing the equator? The wife and I will be crossing the equator on the Splendor in March. The US Navy has a tradition when their ships cross the equator. It would be nice if there was some type of celebration!
HMMMM,,,interesting question. I'd bet they do something, but never experienced it myself aboard a Carnival ship. (Yep, I have done it on Navy ships.) I'm curious to read the answer to this one too. Thanks for asking.
Skymaster, Glad you agree! I've been on two Navy Ships but never crossed over the equator, so I don't have my Shellback Certificate. I've head a few good stories from my friends about what they had to go thru to get their certificate. Looking forward to hearing more feedback about this.
Carnival has never done a cruise across the equator. This is Carnival's first set of South America cruises. Have a great cruise, I wish I was on the Splendor doing a South America cruise!

Yes, NCL has a ceremony when you cross the equator with them. My husband and I received our shellback certificate from NCL, after we attended the ceremony NCL puts some green cool whip looking thing on your forehead during their ceremony.
