Default VIP

I saw a previous poster say with VIP status comes free laundry service. She indicated she did this every day. I thought you could only get it done once for free. Can anybody verify this for me? I would love to have laundry done every day or so and then I wouldnt have to pack much. It would be awesome to go home with a suitcase full of clean clothes too! Along with priority boarding and disembarking these seem to be the most worthwhile perks. They can keep the canapes..

I thought the laundry service was for platinum members.
We were VIP on our first cruise because we had a penthouse ste, but free laundry did not come with it.

I meant VIP as a Platinum member. I qualify on my upcoming cruise. I know you dont get any other perks other than boarding if you are not Platinum but have a suite.

That person must have been me. Yep VIP and platinium and Yes, we sent clothes EVERY day to get laundry done. No questions asked! Sent back, washed, folded, pressed (even our formal night wear). It was great

Yep, it's true. We don't usually have it done every day, but do send it out a couple of times during a 7 day cruise, and yep,,come home with mostly clean clothes. (Just put 'em away for the next cruise!) The laundry service is a GREAT perk IMO. As stated, you don't have to pack nearly as much.

Did they inform you of the perk when you boarded or did you have to ask them? How does the process work?

Platinum members do indeed get free wash and fold.

We use it several times on a seven day cruise...but you can send it every day if you want to.

Where are some suggestions....

I usually send light color clothes one day and dark colored clothes the next day....they place all the clothes sent that day in a mess laundry bag with your cabin number marked on it. So I like to send lights and darks separately.

We use the same laundry bag and laundry ticket (which you will find in your cabin) that folks paying for their laundry use.

However, instead of a folio number I write:

Platinum free wash and fold.

I also write this on the bag in BIG LETTERS:

PLATINUM FREE WASH AND FOLD.A

Then I give it to my cabin steward in the morning and usually have it back that night.

Now I don't send my "good stuff" but for shorts, jeans, tshirts and undies...it is great.

You were lucky. I would never send anything nice.

Yes, but VIP doesn't include Platinum perks. It's basically a boarding status.

When you book a Suite (Cat 11 or 12), the only perk you get is VIP Check In.

You must be Platinum (ON your 10th cruise) to get the rest of the goodies.
And ONLY Carnival cruises count. Even though Princess, HAL etc are sister cruise lines, their cruises do not count.

However, any length of cruise counts. You have have 10 - 2 day cruises to no where and be Platinum.
