Default Back from the Splendor

Any questions? What a great ship with a great crew!

I hope to have my review done soon! Guess it helps if I actually start it though!

Ask away!

Yes she is a great ship! She is my new favorite ship! We were on her in November from Port Canaveral.

I was in Port Everglades and it was a MADHOUSE both for embarkation and debark! Plan accordingly! Not sure who's at fault for the Chaos but that is what it was especially at debark!

That was the only negative experience on the trip though!

They really didn't have any theme nights on our sailing other than elegant nights, sorry!

There were hairdryers in the rooms but they sucked. If you have long hair like I do, I would, if you can fit it, bring your own.

Any other questions? I will gladly answer them!

Take Care
Ashley

I think Ashley brings up a good point re / disembarkation.
I have cruised 30 + times on 5 lines, of which about half were on Carnival. Disembarkation was smooth as silk on some, and as Ashley mentioned, chaos on a few.

My last cruise on Carnival ( Glory ) was back in Jan. The platinum members get priority disembarkation and were asked to meet in the main lobby area at approx. 7:30 a.m. The place was jammed up with people who were carrying ( apparently ) all their worldly possessions with them, trying to do the self disembarking thing.
It was really getting to be a problem but thankfully we were off pretty quickly and out of the mess.

As I have said, I've seen some that went smooth as silk. I guess my comment and question is---- why does it seem to vary from ship to ship in the same cruise line-- is it because that on some ships, they basically figure the cruise is over and get off the best way / time that you can, or what?
My last cruise was back in October on RCCL's Mariner and the disembarkation went smoothly even though the Mariner is approx. 30,000 tons larger than the Glory and holds considerably more people.
Who has the answer.

Best disembarkation and ship clearance I've seen - October 16th Destiny in Miami. The ship was cleared just before 7am and people were at the exit for self-debarkation. Oh to live in Miami, I would have been early for work!

My understanding from the bursar's desk on Destiny (since I needed to see some cabins since I have a return girls' trip in May) is that the ship MUST be totally clear of passengers by 10am! I believe this ship was clear of passengers by 9:30 at the latest! Kudos to this crew!

Default Splendor kids

We are thinking of taking the Splendor to Mexico in April. Our kids are 11, 12, and 15. The reviews and information for camp carnival sounds good EXCEPT for the ages 12 to 14. do you have any comments about camp carnival?

Also, what is you opinion of booking a room on either the main or riviera level ?
