I think Ashley brings up a good point re / disembarkation.
I have cruised 30 + times on 5 lines, of which about half were on Carnival. Disembarkation was smooth as silk on some, and as Ashley mentioned, chaos on a few.
My last cruise on Carnival ( Glory ) was back in Jan. The platinum members get priority disembarkation and were asked to meet in the main lobby area at approx. 7:30 a.m. The place was jammed up with people who were carrying ( apparently ) all their worldly possessions with them, trying to do the self disembarking thing.
It was really getting to be a problem but thankfully we were off pretty quickly and out of the mess.
As I have said, I've seen some that went smooth as silk. I guess my comment and question is---- why does it seem to vary from ship to ship in the same cruise line-- is it because that on some ships, they basically figure the cruise is over and get off the best way / time that you can, or what?
My last cruise was back in October on RCCL's Mariner and the disembarkation went smoothly even though the Mariner is approx. 30,000 tons larger than the Glory and holds considerably more people.
Who has the answer.
