If you have a passport I would take it. Just in case you have to disembark for some reason.

Mine's coming due next year and was wondering the same thing. I was wondering if you keep the same number also.

According the the Department of State's web site passport renewals are being processed in about three weeks. Our DD had hers renewed this past summer in about that time.

The number will change. Had mine renewed this year. It took about 3 weeks to get back. They do have express service but thatis extra shipping and handling. You will get the old one back with holes punched through it to show it is no longer valid. Go to the website and see the details.

It is recommended that you carry a passport for Mexico and Canada. I know what the rules are and the time frames however you will find immigration much easier if you have a passport. One can be obtained rather quickly. My two grand daughters got theirs in less than 4 weeks. The holidays coming up may add a few days due to office closing or staff being on holiday leave. Neither used expidicted servcie. Both used the local post office.

Once again folks - don't leave home without it (passport that is). That's all you have to know.

Passports are NOT a requirement yet if you are going to the Bahamas. It will be in June 09. It still is a good idea to have but some people decide not to get one if they don't do alot of traveling outside the country.

I just saw on the carnival site that they are strongly advising you get one. I just went on ahead and got mine before my last cruise, one less thing to stress about.
