I prefer ships in the 40,000 to 50,000 GRT range with 400-800 passengers. That gives you a great passenger to space ratio. Largest I have been on is Sovereign of the Seas with 1900 passengers and that was way too big. Costa Riviera and Britannis were both about 900 passengers but were smaller than 50,000 so were a bit crowded.

It sure is nice that they make different sizes and different styles since we all have such different preferences.

You know I just could not pass this up. I did make an earlier post as to what I like but this thread just goes to show how some things just don't change. You have some people that says Size matters and then others that say Size doesn't matter. Wow you could really put a different spin on this one.

Once again I agree with CC. I certainly want to try Oasis, but the jury is still out on if it is too big or not. Well just have to wait and see.

They say it isn't the size of the ship that matters but the motion of the ocean.....BUT I say one can cross the ocean a lot better on a huge ship than on a small row-boat ! sorry about that

Bigger is better as far as amenities and attractions go. The one advantage of the smaller ships is sometimes they have very interesting ports of call (Jost Van Dyke, The Grenadines, St. Barths, Guadeloupe, etc)
