okay... this is probably a really stupid question but someone posted that carnival suspended its fuel surcharge and then mostly everyone proceeded to make light of it so.... is this for real or not? I cruise in 2 weeks. I could use that extra $200 for funship drinks......

Thanks! I just saw the article posted in another thread. Guess I should have read down a few threads further. Then I went to carnival's website and found the update posted there as well. Woohoo! Funship drinks for me!!!

I'm confused, too I called Carnival about a month or so ago, and was told that it was based on the fuel prices at the time of your sailing, that you won't know until right before.

Has that changed as a rule, and now all surcharges are being refunded? We sail on Jan 12th

Yes, that's what they did. No more formula based on price of oil, the surcharges were eliminated.

Will the onboard credit be directly posted on all S&S accounts or just the master account?

I don't know - i guess it depends on how you set up your accounts. Whatever the case, you should get about $70 per person back in OBC when you cruise.

They should have a note waiting for you when you arrive that tells you how it works.

Lucky you(se) guys!! I cruised just two weeks ago and we didn't get the credit.

Yes, depending on what you paid and how long the cruise is. We have a 4 day paid in advance, I paid $5 per day, so Im looking for that $40 refund back. Another one I havent paid, was $5 per day on a 7 day so $70 total for the 2 of us off the bill, yabba dabba doo!!!

The way I see it is that you should hope to get it back but don't expect it. It is icing on the cake. I am cruising in a few weeks and I understand that I am getting my FS back and hope that is the case. But, if something happens and I don't, oh well. Happy cruising to all and to all a good night!
