That would kill me if I had to wait over a year to cruise. Yes start the countdown!
Carnival Dream for Thanksgiving
Eastern Caribbean- 11/20/2010
Carnival Ecstasy (4 Day Baja Mexico) 2003
Carnival Pride (7 Day Mexican Riviera) 2007
Carnival Spirit (8 Day Exotic Mexican Riviera) 2007
Carnival Freedom (7 Day Western Caribbean) 2008
Carnival Elation (4 Day Baja Mexico) 2009
Carnival Spirit (7 Day Southbound Alaska) 2009
We almost always plan our next cruise at least a year in advance. Reason why? It's the only cure for our post-cruise blues. After 15 months of waiting, our next cruise is less than two months away. Can't wait, it's been over a year-and-a-half since our last cruise.
I always book ahead too - have to with the job I'm in! And....to get both of us off at the same time is a hassle for the most part. I booked Alaska 2 years in advance --------- its now 4 months away. Book and forget for awhile.....if thats possible.
I know that seems like forever away. We have actually made the deposit for the Carnival Fantasy from Mobile either on May 8th or 15th of 2010.... its going to be a 7 day cruise either way so I dont have much to complain about but its just forever away! And your cruise on the Legend you will LOVE! That is like my favorite ship everrr.

What, if any, advantages does one have by booking a cruise more than a year in advance? Other than ensuring you get a specific cabin during a specific time period, to me it doesn't make sense. Especially given the numerous last minute deals available all through the net.
I'm up here in Canada (look-up-way-up) and what kills us is airfare. We just booked Dec. 29 for a Jan 25 sailing and saved $400 with a last minute deal.
Our next (God willing) is the Mediteranean in Sept 2010. Should I book now?
