Default Guitar on Board

Has anyone tried to take there guitar on board with out being part of the on ship performers. I am a songwriter and really want to take my guitar. I just did not know if Carnival will allow it and I am not about to leave it in my car for a week.
Thanks,

I seriosuly doubt they will allow it. There was another thread a short time ago about a child bringing a violin aboard so the child could practice (to keep his chair in the school band). The consensus was NO.

If in doubt, give Carnival a call and they will give you a firm YES or NO answer.

Why not give yourself a week off and enjoy the sun, fun, and atmosphere....

it says no if you read the carnival fine print but I did see one man carrying his guitar on board the Fantasy last year. He may have been an entertianer though. I will just leave it at home.
Thanks,

I have seen people bring them onboard as luggage, like a plane.

If you are on vacation and bought it in Mexico before the cruise, for example, of course you could take it onboard.

The problem is how loud you play it. If you are going to bring a 100-watt Marshall stack (on 11 ) and blast your stratocaster through a big muff distortion pedal, then no, probably not gonna let you do that.

But a quiet acoustic in your own cabin would be allowed.

if you have visions of playing it on deck at night - it depends on the cruise ship. On carnival you would be fighting the live band in board. But on a small ship with not much else to do at night then possibly OK.

If you are younger (you don't say) and want to share with other teens they would probably let you do it in the teen rooms.

I am NOT a teenager and I write songs. Acoustic is my tool for the trade.
I think I will just leave it at home and just write lyrics.

Alrighty, I didn't mean no offense when I asked if you are a teen ager. I am a guitar player myself and I am NO teenager ;-0

I took a small keyboard in my luggage onto the Fantasy, but never tried with a guitar. ---another songwriter
