Carnival really doesn't have a "formal" night anymore. They call it "Elegant" night, and even the "Capers" calls for only shirt and tie for the men.
When we did the crossing last spring there were 3 "elegant" nights, and you saw everything from shorts to tuxes. Most were dressed neatly.... but not "dressed up".
I have been thinking about this too. We have always done formal (long dress and tux), but with the suitcase charges I think we are going to go more causal.

I'll probably wear black pants and a blingy top. I try to get Don to wear a suit, but he absolutely LOATHES wearing a tie. I may try to figure out a way around that, for him.
Mike, pants would probably be a good idea, but that's just a suggestion

Not taking the tux nor the long dress as usual. While we enjoy dressing up, it's too much of nightmare these days with the suitcase restrictions. May bring a jacket and tie for Guerry but at this point that's not a "for sure"
