need a minister on the Ecstasy for February 12-16th
My fiancee and I are cruising february 12-16th...we really want to get married on board but carnival seems to think we need all the junk they offer which btw we dont....we just need an officiant and thats about it..if there will be a minister on board please email me! firstname.lastname@example.org
As a minister I can tell you, this is not as simple as it may sound. Ministers need credentials in the county where a wedding takes place. In example, I could go from Oklahoma to SanFrancisco and show up at the court house and get credentials for that county. At sea, this is a problem. As far as I know, only the captain or clergy who are officially on the ship as such would be able to conduct the wedding and have any legal standing.
That is exactly why 90% of the weddings you see on the ships are done while still docked at the port.
It does get tricky.
Sometimes you will see "weddings" at sea but what they really are will be "renewals". Just did not want the two to be confused.
Good luck with the wedding and the marriage.
COMPLETES THE FLEET
If it is Carnival and it floats....we have sailed it!
Hubby ... DIAMOND (every ship except the Carnivale)
Me ... DIAMOND (every ship starting with the Tropicale)

24 year old son ... DIAMOND
Contact the Galveston chamber of commerce or the courthouse. They should be able to direct you to what all is going to be entailed and locate a minister there. I doubt you will be the first ones to ask these questions. Good Luck to you.
Well, look at that something I can help with. This is from the Galveston tourism website. There are a lot of chapels in Galveston, however, those are commerical websites and I don't know anything about any of them. I hope this helps, good luck. http://www.galveston.com/weddings/
To obtain a marriage license, you need to go to the Court of the County of Galveston, located at 600 59th Street, Suite 2001, here in Galveston. The office is open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. You may reach the office by phone at (409)766-2200.
A blood test is not required to obtain a marriage license. If you are over 18 years of age, you will need to bring a birth certificate or driver's license and $41 in cash. If you are younger than 18, you must bring a parent or legal guardian with you, along with your birth certicificate or driver's license and $41 in cash.
If either person is divorced, he/she will need to provide the date of the divorce. (If the divorce occurred within the previous 30 days, the person must provide a certified copy of the divorce decree).
The marriage license is valid after a waiting period of 72 hours, and can be used in any county in Texas. It must be used within 30 days.
Witnesses are not required.
