Opinions on the Carnival Liberty

Alright, here's the deal.
We're going on a cruise in May. May 17th to be exact and can't decide between the Carnival Liberty or the Triumph.
Both are roughly the same price, both have the same itieniary.

I like the way the Liberty is decorated, I'm just afraid with all the flowers and stuff it'll be to "Martha Stewart."

Has anyone gone on either of these boats and what are your opinions?

My wife and I cruised on the Liberty this past June for her birthday. This was our eighth cruise and fourth on Carnival, Princess being three and Royal Caribbean one. Of all our cruises this one was the best, the ship was beautiful, and the food was excellant. We were on the Verandah deck (cabin 8315), which is about midship, just below the pool on the Lido deck.

The only thing was because of the cabin location, you could hear them moving the deck chairs about 2:00 am which really wasn't a problem. Also we thought the balcony was smaller than most ships.

But no matter which one you decide on you will have a great time.

You will love the Liberty. It is a garden theme and nothing "Martha Stewart" about it at all. The disco is quiet funky. I was booted off the Valor on Sunday and that ships decor was clearly over-the-top (but it didn't ruin the cruise!)

Triumph is nice, but there is no chocolate buffet on the Triumph or seaside theater (unless it got one when it went into dry dock, if it has gone in yet)...

I have sailed both ships. Both are great, but the Liberty was better! I sailed on her in November. I have been on many, many Carnival cruises and the Liberty had the best food we have ever had on any Carnival ship (not that we've ever had bad food, mind you). And I had heard of many saying they could not stand the decor on the ship, however, we thought is was not over the top and enjoyed it tremendously. You will have a great time on either, but Liberty would be my choice.
