Default how far in advance can you book a cruise?

Does Carnival have schedules already "confirmed" - even if not posted on their website - for 2011? I'm going on NCL Dawn in 2010 that I'm paying off $100 each month) but I was hoping that sometime this summer I will be able to book a cruise this summer that I will take in June 2011 (a high school graduation gift for my soin, Ian, to Alaska.

Thanks.

Michelle

I booked our October 2009 cruise in February of 2008. I would call Carnival directly and find out.

Thanks, I will do that! I want to make sure to get the best price, which of course is lower when it's way in advance (except for last minute deals for those that can drive)

I booked my Splendor cruise a year out. I think if it can be located on a search they can book it. The problem is booking so far in advance (over a year) you risk having a change in route if it is not on a typical/usual run it does all the time.

I booked my Alaska cruise 2 years out - my TA had the dates long before they were posted on the site. I did it mainly because we wanted an AFT cabin. Its now about 4 months out. :-)

Did you also get a low price because you booked so far in advance?

I"m not sure about a lower price - I never really checked into it, but I was locked in. Meaning if the prices went up, my price was set. If the prices went down, they adjusted to the lower rate and if it happens after the final payment, they give me on board credit. Carnival just started a new promotion on getting lower prices for booking in advance --- not sure how it works, but its like 200 cheaper per person.
