Default Carnival Elation Safe

I have heard some people say that the safe on the Elation is a 4 digit code and others say ut is magnetic strip. Can someone tell me what it is becuase I am staying in a room with someone else and it would be so much better to have the code instead of the card kind of safe.

Take 2 copies of the same card with you. Casino slots cards work great. Otherwise library cards, discount clubs, or any kind of membership cards that have a magnetic stipe but isn't a charge card can be used. If you lose one, no big deal.

My wife and I each have cards on the same charge account and sometimes we are able to use both cards on the safe but most of the time not. Different names on the cards and sometimes the readers pick that up.

Ok Thanks. I have seen this idea before. It was on my packing list.

Spencer,

Was on te Elation in Nov 08. They have the magnetic strip readers on the safes. I used my CA driver's license, as it also has a magnetic strip on it. It worked just fine and we were able to keep our credit cards, etc., secured in the safe with no worries.

We loved every minute of our 5 day cruise on the Elation. The weather was perfect, the ship staff was wonderful, the food and entertainment were good and the ports of call were fun for us as first time cruisers.

Was the ship showing any signs of wear. Like a week or so I think after we cruise the Elation is going into drycock. It is having all the cabins redone and getting the adult serenity area and more stuff.

Spencer,

If you recall...we sent you some pictures from our cruise about a month or so ago (in addition to some email information). In a nutshell, the Elation was in very fine shape for an 11 year old vessel. The drydock will hopefully give it a wee bit of a facelift and modernize it some (like some of the other ships in the fleet). You should enjoy yourself on your cruise. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for you.

I do remember that. Thank you for those again. Sorry I have been very busy and I am very tried. So I am not with it today.

Thank you for all your help!

So anyone with a magnetic strip card can open your safe? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having a safe? This is crazy!!

OK, that makes sense. I would still rather have a safe that you enter you own code.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Yeah I would too. That way you can give the code to anyone you want to. Also then you don't have to carry another card around. I think they put the code safes on the Splendor.
