because my wife wants to get a diamond wedding band at one of the stops
she just wants a basic ring nothing real pricy

Grand Turk isn't particularly known for it's shopping, although you can find shops at the cruise terminal.

However if you go to St Thomas, shopping is the number one activity in Charlotte Amalie. The main attractions are jewelry, watches, and cameras besides the local Cruzan Rum.

Most cruise ship passangers do their shopping at Havensight Mall, which is where the cruise ships dock. But a majority of shopping goes on along the harbor of Charlotte Amalie, which is about 2 1/2 miles away.

My wife has purchased a wedding band and a tanzanite bracelet in St Thomas. But expect to do some haggling to get a better price.

Most things in Grand Turk are expensive. Not the selection you may find in other ports. A great beach day but not so great for shopping. 8)

I just got back from Grand Turk and their is almost no shopping. Their are only six stores if that were open. And Carnival Recomends that you do not leave the cruise port. But we left the cruise termianl via taxi and went on a tour of the island and let me tell you their are sooo much coruption that went on in the goverment their. Even carnival got the land deal that they built was done through a shady wheel. I do recomend getting a taxi and going into town. The driver will take you some nice spots. Their is nothing like super great shopping mostly little stores and strawmarkets but this island needs money pumped into it. ex over 40% of the island is still without power caused by the Hurrcan.

I think St Martin is the best if you are going there. The shopping bargains are better than St. Thomas IMO. Especially for fine jewlery. Philipsburg is the place.

I second the shopping tip for St. Martin. Even better is Curacao for jewelry if you are going there. As far as Grand Turk, I go as far as Margaritaville right near the ship
