I did like the ship, but I found that the ships have basically the same layout. But Splendor does have the large big screen on the Lido deck and the Cloudy 9 Spa.

I was on the Freedom and the Freedom has the big screen too. It is cool to watch movies at night.

We LOVED our Spa Balcony on the Splendor.

I lived in that Thalasso Pool every day....it was wonderful.

If you didn't book a spa room do they charge for the Thalasso Pool? If so how much?

Katlady,
The charge is $35 that is for an all day pass. They give you a wrist band. You only have access to the pool and the various steam rooms. You have use of the locker area, very nice, but be careful some people try to get in for free, that really made me mad, because there were 5 of us, $175 we paid so they need to check everybody.you pay for the privilege.

Sadly, there are folks who can't read the "PRIVATE" sign that is right on the doors to each of the speciality areas.

Just a tip..... if they are wearing the "normal" Carnival bathrooms (the ones in the Spa cabins are different)...then they had better be wearing a "paper" wristband!!

There was one couple who tried to sneak into the Thalasso pool....but we all "flashed" our wristbands and they got the hint.

That's exactly what my sister did, she flashed her wrist band. They had give out two different colors that day so she purposely asked why the different colors, those people without one DID NOT take the hint.

MY WIFE AND I WILL BE O SPLENDOR FOR THE 7 DAY MEX. RIV. CRUISE IN MAY. WE WOULD LKE SOME ADVISE ABOUT EXCURSIONS. WE WOULD LIKE TO SNORKLE 7 KAYAK BUT ARE NOT SURE HOW TO GO ABOUT THIS.

HERE IS WHAT WE ARE THINKING ARE POSSIBILITIES:

IN PV.: LAS CALETAS BEACH HIDEAWAY, YELAPA BEACH SNORKLE ADVENT.

IN MAZ.: DEER ISLAND NATURE PRESERVE & KAYAK

IN CABO: CLEAR BOTTOM KAYAK & SNORKLE

I LIKE THE IDEA OF THE CLEAR BOTTOM KAYAK AND SNORKLE IN CABO BUT I DON'T THIK IT TAKES YOU TO THE BEST PLASE TO SNORKLE & IT DOES NOT SEEM LIKE MUCH TIME TO SNORKLE. I WAS CONSIDERING JUST GETTING SNORKLE GEAR AND THEN ARRANGING SOME KIND OF SNORKLE SESSION ON MY OWN WITHOUT CARNIVALS HELP. MAYBE JUST A HIRED BOAT TO DROP ME OFF, OR IF THERE IS PLACES IN CABO TO GET TO BY CAB RIGHT FROM THE DOCK. I WOULD LOVE YOUR IMPUT AND ALSO ANYTHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO PASS ALONG ABOUT THE NEW SPLENDOR WOULD BE GREAT. IT IS OUR FIRST CRUISE. WE WILL BE CELEBRATING OUR 20 YEAR ANNIV. & MY WIFES B-DAY! IT WILL BE OUR FIRST VACATION WITHOUT OUR 2 BEAUTIFUL KIDS IN 15 YEARS! WAY OVER DUE. WE ARE LOOKING FOWARD TO ANY INFO YOU CAN PASS ALONG. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!

Personally I dont think the snorkeling in the Pacific is all that great. The Carribbean side is so much better. The water can be darker and there doesnt seem to be a lot of coral or fish for that matter. If you are set on doing it I would do it on your own and save money rather than be dissappointed with the Carny excursion if the views arent too good. Just my opinion of course.

Please confirm.... if you are booked in a Spa Balcony, you do not have to pay anything for the thalasso pool... correct?

We are just about to book it, I'm so excited.
How did you sleep on deck 11? I've only been as high as deck 7, is it a smooth ride?
Thanks in advance.
