Default Carnival Glory ship info wanted

Likes? Dislikes? Looks to me the pools are smaller but the steam room has an ocean view cool. For those of you who cruised her, how do you like this ship? How was food? Layout? I've never cruised on this class of ship only the spirt class.

Ports are Belize, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Nassau. I'm also considering seeing the Kennedy space center, Sea World, Disney or Cocoa Beach in Port Canaveral. So any shore excursion ideas, area hotel info, suggestions appresheated.

We loved the Glory when we sailed her last year. The pools arent that big, but thats alright. We stayed by the Aft (adults only) pool, which has a wonderful hottub area. And dont forget the water slide, its great. And is right by the Pizza station.

The layout can take a day or two to get used to, being that she is a pretty large ship. I would suggest taking an hour or 2 once you get onboard to learn your way around. It can be quite a haul from one end of the ship to the other. Our cabin was up front, so a walk back to the room to get something took a little while. But that just helped burn off some of the food.

The food is excellent. The buffets are really good. But we prefferred to eat breakfast and lunch in the dining rooms. Also try the Deli for a great sandwhich and dont forget the Fish and Chips upstairs. The Supper Club is a nice treat as well, and well worth the $30pp if you enjoy fine dining. I also used the room service for coffee in the morning and for late night snacks. You can also order sandwiches from room service and take them with you into ports to save on buying lunch. There is also a sushi bar that opens around 5 each day past the casino. Sushi was alright, not great, but I ate it everyday anyway!!

As you can tell I ate a lot of food, so I had to head to the gym to work it off. That is where you will find the steam rooms. Yes they have a wonderful ocean view. Very relaxing when you could sit in there by yourself and just decompress. Also the treadmills have great views as well. And there is a great hottub with waterfall in the gym, which you can normally have all to yourself.

We had a wonderful time on the Glory and did the same intinerary, minus Costa Maya since it was closed. You will have an excellent time. If you want to do some shopping wait untill you get to Belize, they have better prices for the same things than Cozumel.

Enjoy your trip and just let us know if you have any more questions.

Default Carnival Glory ship

Thanks so much for the info! My cabin is also up front on a low deck. Any problem with noise up there or movement of the ship? I too usually like the aft adults pool. How was the entertainment, shows and bands? Carnival usually does a good job in this area. What shore excursions did you do and like best? Did you cruise from Port Canaveral? If so did you see the Kennedy Space center or anything in that area?

Your cabin position IMO depends on how far forward it is! If you're within 3 or 4 cabins from the very front, I'd suggest that you try moving a bit further back. You'll hear quite a lot of noise from waves hitting the bow when underway, and when you stop at ports where you're tied out (ie: you have to tender in) the noise of the anchor being released will bring you out of the bed in a hurry! If you're cabin is further than 4 or 5 from the bow, you'll be fine.
Glory is a very good ship, and IMO has the best food of any of the Carnival ships. You'll have a GREAT cruise.

Default Carnival Glory

We do have a cabin way up front, I'll let my friend know in case she wants to move but we saved a hundred bucks by our cabin choice. Good to hear about the food, I'm excited!

We loved the Glory. Sailed her 1 1/2 yrs ago. This was the largest ship we had been on up till then. Blew us away when we drove up to her. She is SOOOO BIGGGG. The lay-out is a bit confusing & it took a day or two to get the lay-out in our heads. In the dinning room we sat right at the aft of the ship. What a lovely picture, having a wonderful dinner & watching the wake of the ship. The sushi bar is a nice touch too. Enjoy...No cruise is bad..Just everyone is different...

Default Carnival Glory

I'm excited to be on this class of ship never been on it before only the Spirit class (Legernd, Pride) and way back in the day the Mardi Gras. Also excited to go out of a new port. Being that it's hurricane season our ports can't be counted on as I tried to this cruise before and lost the 2 ports I most wanted to go to Belize, Costa Maya. So I'm hoping the 2nd try is a charm. I love the sushi bar btw! Last year I did 2 land based trips but with the economy cruising is a way better value.
